They call it the "Penguin Plunge," an area dedicated to these Antarctic residents at my local zoo. It features several different species of these fun-loving birds. Humboldt, Gentoo, Rockhopper, and King penguins all share this area, sometimes intermingling with each other while also seemingly liking to hang in their own little groups. Its always a bit chilly inside so bring a jacket and you can experience this fine birds up close.
I find the lighting a bit challenging, and these birds love to move around, but its all part of the fun experience, as its quite a treat to be among them. In some ways the remind me of little people and the way they walk around and convalesce amongst themselves.
