I like when I have a robin land on my balcony railing. So long as I don't move to quickly, they will linger for a while and let me take some nice close ups. Most birds seem to react quicker; the robins seem to like taking some time to perch and observe things, somethings they will make their calls as they perch.
This one, an adult, had a nice and vibrant orange belly; the colors really created a nice contrast to the green backgrounds. I also like the many layers of feathers that almost make a pattern on its wings while also showing some texture.
