Snowy owls are among the larger of their species; their fluffy white feathers might seem like they standout, but in the snow-covered landscapes of the frozen north, it helps them blend right in. They can often be found near the ground in open areas or along the banks of rivers and lakes. They are used to a treeless landscape like the cold tundra. Snowy owls are also often active during the day, unlike other owls that are typically nocturnal.
