Today in Rising Star started off pretty good. I had a healthy amount of energy available to me and I was getting some decent starbit rewards from each mission as I went through them all. Although I called the day short and only ended up making around 3k starbits for the day because I needed to pursue music lessons for a bit.
Stats:
Hey look, I've got 5k fans already. Or so I wish. I'm only this high up because a group of 400 drunks decided to pile up on top of me. I was trying to play it relatively safe, but I knew that the ego meter was going to be rearing its head within the next day or two. With that, I planned for making it a music lesson day for tomorrow. Or so I had hoped, but a bit of a recent purchase kind of cut that short.

New cards:
Here's where it felt a little bit like cheating. Well, from my standpoint anyway. There's not anything preventing paying to give yourself a boost here or there. And as it usually goes, the starbits/hive spent usually pay themselves back pretty quickly. At least in my experience. I went ahead and I decided that I would toss in 9 hive after selling a couple Splinterlands vouchers I had laying around. With that 9 Hive I was able to grab a grand total of 42k starbits. A nice chunk of change to spend on some cards. The ones listed above are all the ones I managed to get. These all added up to 650 fans, plus the 10k starbits I took out earlier for an extra Boki, making the grand total 775 fans. I'm just 145 fans away from hitting 5k permanent fans.
Missed opporunities:
While I was getting my vouchers sold for some starbits, I noticed this card pop up on the market for just under 22k starbits. I thought it was a pretty good steal and it would be a new unique card for my collection. And I had enough...! Or so I thought, anyway. It turns out that my buy order for starbits didn't fully go through, and by the time I got them the card was already sniped off the market. I missed it by a matter of maybe 20 to 30 seconds. Live and learn, I guess.
Ending:
Overall a fantastic day thanks to the help of Splinterlands vouchers. I wanted to do it as free to play as possible, and for the most part, I still am. I do occassionally spend some hive on starbits, but I try to limit my spending. At least, until I plan on going for the goal of one million starbits.
