Hello Hive.
Vegetable farmers often can't wait for this season to come for them to begin business and to be honest this is also a part of my farming business.
I and my mum often grow pumpkins alongside vegetables by the river bank.
During the raining seasons the water levels are often very high and we can't go near it as people could get drown but you won't believe how very fast this water often go down before this time and we are able to begin work.
There are some among us who have enough resources to fuel a pumping machine (generator) but the rest of us often use buckets to carry water on our heads from the river into our vegetable bed.
Vegetable planting season for this year has commenced and you can see everyone here is allocated to different bed.
Am still working with harvesting of beans, rice and millet with other domestic work while preparation is ongoing to get my own spot here as well.
Most of the vegetables eating during the dry seasons come from this kind of farming and we often make some good amount of money selling at the market.
The only challenges here is that we are not allowed to sell to consumers directly, we have to sell to wholesalers who then sell it around the market, some level of extortion on us and the consumers as well.
That's still fine since we get to make some tokens selling these.
Fluted pumpkin, spinach and some will be my target for this year.
