[internal monologue requested to be read in thick mountain accent]

One beautiful day in land of human creativity there exist way by which create perfect film light for very, very cheap.

If you have struggled with wonderful 4K/5K resolution spouting on special bonus marketing ploys on fancy website and glossy box for little portable hipster camera - and have found such limited use when it just would not make good picture without right lighting due to extreme miniscule lens.

This post for you!

In filming - I learn light is everything.

You need good light - even if have fancy colour correction software that make beautiful tones with afterwards - if not have right foundation of light information then basic you doomed make amateur bullshit rest of Hive blog career.

But that where I help!

Introducing -

Blampfuctoilestry

Is age old technique lost amongst civilisation age past.

Is art of using humble duct tape, high lumen ugly making light led globe, sacred tin foil and attitude of no unlimited enter dangerzone anti-decor.

Blampfuctoilestry - Is mixture of words 'Budget' - 'light' - 'lamp' - 'FUCK' (for amount of time you exclaim your frustration at 4K/5K footage from hipster camera coming out grainy as.. fuck) - 'duct' for duct tape - 'foil' as in tin foil - 'estry' as in fancy ending that goes on end of word to make sophicated - and of course - 'film' which can also be found in re-arrange of sounds - as can 'luster' and 'pest', but yet to know relevance.

So let begin journey and exploration into sacred practice with aid of beautiful picture

As learned from narcissistic Danish design culture - aim of all lamp creation - to make look like spaceship - this basically law (source embedded)

Using just duct tape and foil - I create something just as beautiful!

Notice the strategic use of duct tape for stablilization on all sides. Foil used for light reflection and handy hand towel used for spread light.

Use of spare camera tripod made tall also been of great use to get light in accuracy!

Notice strategic use of duct tape - basically everywhere there is space you put duct tape and immediately everything gets better, even if it is not being used to position the light but just there good looks! Duct tape not only beautiful but also practical! 😀

Same lamp in off position.

It important to see all states of lamp to teach you how to do it better when you make your own magnificent piece of lighting for the film!

Spread light in off position. Notice amazing foil capacity to reflect. Can be stuck most anywhere and makes amazing reflection potential!

Spread light in on position. Notice how it looks where there is no electricity coming from the globe. It is not making light anymore.

More lights... will follow with just picture now and you can make up the text to what you think should be there while I put food on stove.

I call this 'Sitting penguin' for obvious reason (it looks like sitting penguin 😉)

Again, notice how light not on when electricity not on. Very peculiar phenomenon.. This very important part of lesson. When you forget, your film fucked and you run risk of using multiple video effects to cover terrible lighting.

Remember once more so you not forget - for light make brightness, switch on!

Get rid of destructive natural light or else your film will die horrible death of pain. Use bed sheets for best curtain.

This is only just enough light to make it film work with such miniscule lens.

But budget less than 50$.

You are winner, everybody is winner.

Important remember! if make good light make good cows happy!

ps. Beautiful prop make great set and things for light to work around in order to illustrate how amazing light is! This grass tree stumps from paddock that tractor will not digest! I keep telling tractor, stop eating stump! They make stomach upset! So I collect regurgitation for filming.

Oh wow, @montycashmusic, I’m lost for words 😂
I fully appreciate your understanding that light is the key to great photography and videos. This is a very important realisation, as you are 100% correct.

As to the Frankenstein beast you created? That’s going to haunt my nightmares 😬😆

Great solution to get the lighting you want though! Well done.

Thank you!

If I destroy it here, it make break the curse of your dream. But I am afraid the duct tape is too strong.

I suggest buying some cheap chrystals and burying them in your garden as remedy! 🤣

Awesome I like MacGyvering.

Without duct tape there no life.

@ashtv - maybe something you can relate to..... 😂
