Monuments are very imortant for history, and touristic destinations, and in this post I want to tell you about The Memorial ossuary to fallen soldiers in 1912-1918 or Monument to soldiers of four faiths is a war memorial erected on September 23, 1934 to soldiers who lost their lives during the Balkans and the First World War, in Čačak, Serbia. What makes this monument special, is, that it has symbols of 4 religions: Catholic Christian, Ortodox Christian, Islamic and Jewish, for the purpose of showing respect to all fallen soliders. This is why it's also called monument "Four religions".

Woman from Čačak, after the First World War, founded association, to fight for peace, take care of soliders and their families, and monuments. In 1934. on their annitiative, monument was built for 4 religions, upon their realisation that there are fallen solders from 15 countries, burried there, and belonging to 4 different religions. Idea for monument design was Isidor Janjic's and it was made by Francesco Berbelja. Shape of the monument is obelisk, and on each side there is symbol to represend each religion: the Orthodox cross, the Catholic cross, the Islamic crescent and the Jewish Star of David. The monument location is in Čačak graveyard.

I was really impressed and moved when I first heared about this monument, and I wanted to visit it first time I get opportunity for it, so I did. It's sad that people even 100 years ago were fighting for peace and realised religion doesn't metter and in the end, we are all people, but we still live in a world full of wars.

Thank you for reading my post ^^
Love&Peace
