Hey Guys
Happy Thursday, how are you all doing today, I hope you are all enjoying and doing good at the same time and if you ask of my I am managing and God is really in control.
I always feel happy to share my upholstery work here in this amazing community because I know it is important. It has been some days I don't create a post here in this community be I have been trying my best to my active by commenting, reading and upvoting other people post here since I did not have work in my shop to share due to lack of fun in my country where everyone is manage the little the have just to feed their self and their family.
I feel happy that after like one week someone finally bring a work for me to work on he front seat because its totally cut off I have to manage I collect the work although the payment was poor instead of staying doing nothing and now every money is transfer and to withdraw it you have to buy the money 30% chia Nigeria, we are really suffering.
Here is the finished work
Here was the seat before
Looking at the old seat everything has been cut off and the seat look dirty to seat on. One thing about this upholstery work is just like sewing if clothes were the steps are the same but the style are different, here the steps are the same but the pattern are difference.
This tool my 5 hours to sew the seat and return to the owner.
Let look at some steps I follow to achieve it
Firstly I loose the seat out from the back seat for easy measurement and clipping.
After then, I use a sewing tape and a chalk to take the vertical and the horizontal distance of each pattern on the seat and then write it down on the seat for easy seeing.
I then cut the pieces of the old leather to the market to get a new one that match with the old leather. See below 👇👇
I then transfer the measurement written on the old seat to the new leather, measurement them one after the other an mark it out.
I then cut out the new leather following the line I draw on the new leather with the help of scissors
I then form my pattern by placing the new pattern on the old pattern and the shape it out, after then I now gym it to a roof material to make it smooth and stronger.
Then cut it out for sewing process.
With the help of my sewing machine, I carefully join those pattern together has it is in the old seat to form a new seat cover
After sewing it, I then clip the new seat cover to my seat to make it turn new.
Still on the clipping process, this is done simple with the help of pliar.
After clipping it I then cover the seat all. You can see photo below 👇👇
Finally tight the seat back and the seat is ready.
This is amazing. I will really appreciate if you stop by. Thanks so much for you time and for going through. I remain my humble self @mosesessien
