hi hive friends all What are your weekend activities? let me share this week's story about traditional food, namely lemang.
Lemang is a traditional food made from glutinous rice and coconut milk grilled in bamboo. This weekend I spend time with friends trying to cook lemang while having a light discussion accompanied by a glass of coffee and a cigarette
The designation in each region may be different because we understand the dialect factor.
making lemang is not easy even though it's just glutinous rice and coconut juice which is only seasoned with salt but in the cooking process it takes quite a long time because by roasting it too close to the fire the bamboo will burn and taste bad. if it's too long besides cooking it can also cause the glutinous rice to get soft and also taste bad not to mention we have to keep an eye on it so that the glutinous rice inside the bamboo doesn't overflow and it doesn't cook evenly due to only one side being roasted on fire so we have to be diligent Rotate the bamboo that is exposed to the fire so that it gets evenly heated.
maybe if told not complicated. maybe also because of my limitations in terms of telling stories through writing but if you do it yourself you can judge whether the effort we are doing is in accordance with the savory taste of the lemang we eat 😊 how to eat lemang can also be enjoyed with a cup of coffee, it can also be with sweetened condensed milk, it can also be with durian and even with sticky rice yeast. I think the most impressive with yeast even I recommend you to taste it. I don't have a lot of photos, just a few, at least maybe a little representative of what I told above, I am @muhammadnasri, I hope you have a happy ending and always be happy...
