I was born in the city. I grew up in the city. Although our village house is on the bank of Padma river. When I was a child, my mother took me for a visit to my grandmother's house. I don't remember it very well. I have had many experiences of traveling in love. But no boat travel experience yet. But that opportunity also happened to me one day. On the occasion of my younger uncle's wedding, I went to the village house in the boat age. In the family, great uncle arranged a nice boat for us to travel.
I woke up early in the morning and found that my mother had fixed everything. Farhana is my younger sister. My younger sister Farhana dressed in her red dress and prepared for the trip. Big uncle has packed cloth bag tiffin carrier etc. Dad is not able to go on this wonderful trip with us as he has no leave from work.
At 9 am we boarded the boat for the trip. At first my mother was very strict and I was quiet. Because I don't know how to swim in the river. I am very afraid to go through the river. But the Padma river basin is quite calm. Small waves rocked the boat. I lay down and watched the blue sky through the gap of the boat. Today I felt for the first time that the beautiful sky is so blue. Light clouds like white white cotton are floating. Gangchil Machranga Buck and Gangshalik are flying away.
At times the river is making noise and the flow of this sound is quite pleasant. Elder uncle, mother and younger sister Farhana were enjoying this wonderful boat trip. We asked the boatman to sing a song and then a Bhatiali song started.
Farhana was taking water from the river by dipping her hand sometimes avoiding her mother's eyes. Seeing such behavior of Farhana, I also wanted to dip my hands in the river water and play. But when I told my mother, she was very angry with me. Because I don't know how to swim and if I fall into the water I will surely die. So mother scolded me and I laughed out of curiosity hearing mother's scolding. Mamu started laughing when she saw me and all the other students in the boat were laughing. And sometimes it seemed that such a trip would be better if you could do it every day.
Our boat was quite big. There were a total of four boat drivers. It can be seen that they have gained a lot of experience in boating. The sailors have no clothes on and are tied with a towel around their waist and head. An old cloth is wrapped around the head to protect from the sun. Flat seats on both sides. In the middle there was a nice upper chala built as in the picture. But I liked the view inside the boat much more. Because if the passengers get tired while traveling on the boat, there are beds here for them to rest. I enjoyed the sound of the beautiful water of the river very much.
I felt like I was watching a scene from a movie. Because when we went inside the river, there was water all around. The boat had already set sail. In the distance, small shops, bazaars, houses and trees were seen. The horizon is like a dim shadow behind. At the ghats of the river, someone was cleaning clothes, girls were cleaning dishes with veils. Those with small children would bathe the children in the river and village housewives would carry water from the river in pitchers.
The young boys who were around the river were swimming in the river and jumping a lot. Seeing the children jumping, I also wanted to swim in the river with them. But even then I couldn't afford to swim with them.
Fishermen were fishing in the river. I saw several fishermen catch very large fish. Some had to bathe their cows and buffaloes in river water. I have a very good memory of a place and then many boats are blocked in one place. There are sailing boats and various colorful boats in this river ghat. But our boat was an engine powered boat. The waves from our boat hit those small boats and they swayed in the boat and I liked it a lot more.
It was about 5:15 in the afternoon. We were almost at our destination. We had tea at a tea shop in Taltali Bazar
. We loved drinking pure cow's milk tea and it was absolutely nectar.
From here our boat entered a small canal along the banks of the Padma river. Beautiful green houses on both sides. The green paddy fields and the colorful flowers of kachuripana and kachuripana, which were sometimes flooded with monsoon water, called us very beautifully indeed. Thus our boat trip destination ended at around 7:30 PM.
Finally we went to our wedding house and were able to take a wonderful boat trip to the wedding house. I am very happy to be able to travel on this boat with my first family in life. It is great to share this wonderful boat trip story with you again after some time. I hope you also enjoyed reading the story. Thank you very much for taking your precious time to read the story.
