I talked about my insurance renewal plan in the post I published three weeks back. I'm not much into the online world and especially if I talk about the insurance then I always got it done through the agent. To be honest I never had the idea how it would be convenient and cost-effective if I chose to go with online renewal. It took some time for me to learn and understand that how it works but let me tell you that it was worthwhile.
Policy Bazaar is a nice website available in India and one can buy or renew any insurance within a few minutes if we know what we are going to pay for. I was under the impression that the insurance can be renewed only offline but I knew that the new insurance can be purchased online. I was wrong because now we have all these options available on online websites and this can be done within a few minutes by making the payment. Because I have been renewing all my insurance through the agent by visiting their office this time I did the same but I did not pay them. I just visited the agent's office to see what amount they are going to charge me. Then I came home and did some research on the policy bazaar to figure out how much it was going to cost me if I went online.
There were better options available online because multiple insurance companies were offering me the plan for renewal but with the agent office, I was getting just one expensive option. I had a clear thought that this is the first time I will be doing my renewal online no matter what happens. You know what sometimes a kick is needed to change the way and this time I had got it so it was particularly clear that online is the only way forward for me in this year's renewal.
Yesterday was the day when I finally decided that I would be renewing my insurance because only a couple of days are left for insurance expiry. I was able to save around 2000 INR which is approximately 30 US dollars. This is not a small amount in India and I'm happy that I was able to do the transaction online but I was aware of the call option which was a good help for me. The team at policy bazaar is very helpful because they call up within a minute once we place the request and the executive on the phone was very helpful for me to guide how I need to associate.
I must say that things have changed a lot and we need to get familiar with all these good changes. It's not just about saving money we can also save time because things can be done online sitting at home or any place wherever we are. It can also be done using the mobile phone so there is no such need specifically to have the laptop or PC but I did it through my laptop. I have installed the application on my phone and got the all details related to my car insurance policy.
