People usually say you should just forget about what brings in the money and just stick to what you love. While some believe in the other way round.
This I believe is something that it’s hard to know where and when to draw the line. For example when you create something you love the audience might not love it. And when you do what the audience wants, they will reciprocate positively.
However, what the audience wants is usually not what they need. For instance there are some creators who have been doing a lot of pranks which seems to bring in the numbers as the audience like to see something real.
But these type of things(many if not all)have been staged, planned and scripted to the point where it looks like the real thing. Just do this and you are sure to grow your followers.
These days I don’t want to create for myself anymore but rather find a better way to draw the line between what I want and what I think the audience might not want to see or read but they need.
Honestly speaking we all don’t know what we want until we try it out.
