Ying and Yang of Life

Just as we have day, we also have night. Life is all about balance because we won’t cherish joy if we don't know pain. They both flow together.

When you see someone who has gone through a lot of pain and past trauma they always cherish every moment of joy that comes their way because they know that it won't last that long. So do hard times too— they don't last. Making life a freaking rollercoaster.

It happens that a few days ago I was having a chat with a friend and we talked about how sometimes people like to mistake your kindness for weakness.

He said there's a friend that he usually helps out in times of need, but over time, this became a habit, and he eventually had to say No to him for the first time. Surprisingly, this guy didn’t even try to understand him, instead, he informed one of their friends about how this friend was stingy just because of that one time.

This guy(my friend) and his friend are both childhood friends, so it's kind of understandable that his friend is becoming entitled just because they grew up together. It's no surprise to me cause things happen on a daily that I've been called several names all because I said “NO”.

This issue of entitlement is becoming a big issue these days, especially here in Africa where the poverty rate is very high. Regardless I think many people who have this mentality are just too hooked up on one side of reality which is that people will always say yes to them.

But if life was all rosy and filled with only joy and happiness then how would life have any meaning or even be worth living? I don't think many of these entitled fellas ever stop to the no about this because if they do then they will realize that sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry and there is nothing wrong with that.

Well, that's all for today. I'm off to bed
