After a long absence, I'm back to playing splinterlands, unfortunately, I've been gone for so long that my rank dropped all the way to novice. I managed to fight my way up to bronze I already and will slowly climb my way back to gold, I hope.
Splinterlands weekly battle challenges have changed and now instead of sharing a battle using a specific card, we're required to share a battle for a chosen ruleset each week.
This week the chosen ruleset was "armored up", it took me a long time to finally get a battle I could share with you. Bronze battles aren't as exciting as the previous ones I used to share but I need to get back into the habit of participating in these weekly challenges.
Armored Up Strategy
This was one of my favorite rulesets while I was competing in the higher leagues. My main strategy revolved around having a solid defense. Most players go heavy on the magic damage whenever they play this ruleset so naturally, I played a front line with "Void" and "Reflect" making it extremely hard for them to get through, I would also add a second ranged attacker with the same two abilities to absorb any splash or sniper damage. My usual combo was Lord Arianthus with the Prismatic Ennergy right behind.
For the attacking part of my strategy, I would usually go for all-out sneak damage, no one is expecting a backline melee assault when playing "Armored up".
Ruleset: Armored Up
Mana Cap: 20
Battle Link
I was expecting the enemy to bring some magic damage but apparently, that was not the case so my Bone Golem wasn't as useful as I expected. For offense, I went with two sneak attackers, one magic damage dealer, and the xenith archer just to make it to 20 mana.
Round 1
Uninventful first round. Managed to take the armor off his front lane and missed one of my sneak attacks.
Round 2
One down, three more to go. His back monster is wide open and ready to get knocked out while my team is still looking great completely untouched health points.
Round 3
Thankfully I brought some magic damage so his chaos agent gets knocked out right at the beginning of the round. Finally managed to hit the Gargoya twice in the same round knocking it out as well.
Round 4
My team takes it all the way down to one HP and the Bone Golem delivered the final blow to get us an easy win!
It can be a little bit frustrating climbing all the way up to gold once again but I'm enjoying learning how to play the lower leagues. It is wildly different than what I was used to.
I think I can climb all the way back up there before the end of the current season, I just need to put in 25 battles, every single day.
