It did not come out perfect or pretty but it will work, I built a tomato cage from bamboo. I have babied these tomatoes all summer, tomatoes do not produce fruit in Florida in the summer, it is too hot. It was from a tomato that my husband grew last winter and the tomato was one of our last ones and an animal ate half of it. I took the good half and smashed it and spread it on top of a pot of soil. I saved three of the plants and they are growing beautifully.
I spent all day yesterday pulling these weeds so I can put another compost pile here.
We have two acres, and every time I want to plant something or build something, my husband complains about it like I need to be able to get through here with the lawn mower or some other reason, so I can never plant where I want.
I picked the perfect place for the new compost pile. it is beside our septic tank, it is on a little hill but I dug down and got it leveled out. I built the cage 3x3 feet.
It was so hard trying to build it without using my bad hand, but even with the pain, I was able to make it. The part that hurt was hooking the green netting together. It was not tall enough, so I had to put two pieces together, and I could not find any little rope to lace it. All I could find was some old electric fence wire. I cut small pieces and hooked them together and to the bamboo poles.
My husband fished today, he only caught 10 pompano that weighed 19 pounds, he had 37 pounds yesterday. When he got home he complained about me pulling all of the weeds from this area, yep tell me something new, now he says by me pulling all of the weeds from here, when it rains there will be nothing there to hold the sand in place and it will wash it all away from our septic tank. He could have told me this yesterday before I pulled all the weeds, but he waited for today after I finished it. I have news for him, I am not moving it, I will buy a bag of grass seed and plant grass around it.
