Another season end, number 145 is over and I managed to do better this season compared to the last couple seasons. I reached back into Diamond II again which is cool
This season my ranking was just 2980 vs 2900 last month, and I earned 86k glint compared to 64k last season. As I hinted at last time, I decided to rent more SPS to increase my earnings multiplier and it seems to have had a positive effect, not just on my SPS earnings.
I implemented my strategy of opening major chests and this has given mixed results this season and also the new season, no legendaries yet. Overall though, it does seem to be the best strategy.
I also had 48k merits where I could open 24 glad packs and pulled 3 more Quoras which was great to see.
The lucky thing was that I managed to pull a Tatiana legendary and could level up to level 2 now which was cool.
I also bagged a few Katrelba and Captian Katie cards which are also some of my fav glad cards to use.
It takes some time, but the glad cards slowly level up nicely over time.
My glad card progress has been quite good this season with some noticeable increases in all card types! I hope that it can continue.
Now checking my soulbound progess. I see my common cards are at 38%(+4%), Rare 24%(+3%), Epic 2%(+2%) and Legendaries 4%(+0%). So I am still not sure if I should power ahead with common and rare cards as we have maybe 6 months? before the new core set Conclave Arcana comes. Will there be a new reward set dropped then too?
This month I have had some fun battles slaying the Chaos Dragon who is a 14 mana beast with blast ability that can cause quite some damage in many rulesets.
However, my favorite battles have been with the awesome Jared Scar, my favorite card in the game. Once he gets on a run, he is unstoppable. I knew when I first saw him, I would need him and at max level.
The big news has been the announcement of the new set Conclave Arcana, which should be dropped in around 6 months. This will be a new core set to replace rebellion. I guess it was decided not to do another mini set.
As I am not such a fan of the rebellion cards, I think this is maybe a good thing. I hope the graphics will be much better with more solid colouring like my favorite Riftwatchers mini-set.
Checking the Rebellion pack sales, they do not seem to be selling well, even 3 years into the bull market. I still think NFTs have had their peek and the packs are overpriced. A drop to $1 a pack would stimulate sales massively among players and the community. $4 is peak alt season bull run pricing and we are not there.. considering there is only 6 months runway for selling the last million packs, this could be something to really get the community pumped about. Possibly with some special discount for those who have already bought at the inflated $5/$4 prices.
The price of Splinterlands tokens has remained flat during Uptober, even with Bitcoin hitting a 11%+ gain. Alts outside of a select few like Solana, don't seem to be along for the ride yet.
The DEC held by the company is down to only 59M already and will need topping up by the DAO soon. I was holding some DEC for some key card purchases, but decided to convert it to sats and this seems to have been the smart move.
The worrying token in the eco-system still seems to be Hive. We saw very weak price action during Uptober and the fundamentals are not turning around with the huge noose around its neck being HBD and the oversized DAO. Currently in $0,17 area, I predict we could see a drop under $0,10 before long.
Thats all for this update.
How was your season?
