This is my attempt at short story fiction using freewrite prompt.
Oct 17, 1998. Texas had a lot of water collected during the flood times. And it was really harder to survive at that time. A lot of animals and people died and that created infection into the water. Which also lead to some diseases and the drinking water was harder to get. Even getting water to bathe was harder.

Town nearby had the people who had their homes under water. They survived due to the townhall which had the terrace and the upper floor which was free from water reaching that level. They stayed there for few weeks before they could get their homes back.
Everyone was trying to help each other and there was this leadership contest going on who to follow and who is to lead the tough times.
