A Visit to the City Mall

in #hive-1963083 years ago

A friend of mine called me up and told me that there was some night market set up in one of the Malls in the city. So we decided to make a visit. Nowadays all these markets have almost the same things. It is like just visiting the same shop again and again, so I was not very keen for the night market, but I wanted to visit this mall since a long time, so thought it would be a good idea to visit and check it out.

This particular Mall - Mall of Muscat is far from my home, so I have not had a chance to visit so far. There are quiet a few Malls in the city. I am not a mall person, who would just want to go and stroll around. Only if I want to buy something I would like to visit. Oman has a Mall concept when it comes to shopping, unlike in India there are many small shops across the city. Here the concept is Mall and Supermarkets. There are some small stand alone shops also in certain areas of the city but then those are very local ones and you do not find much variety and also quality wise those are on the lower side. So everyone prefers to visit malls, which is like a one stop destination for all the needs.

The entrance is glamorous of this place. Right now Ramadan is going on, so there are lot of promotional offers. At the entrance there was a lucky draw raffle going on. I tried my luck, but I got better luck next time... :-)

There is a lot of art work in the place. This mall is very different from the other city malls, some part of it is made in a manner in which you feel you are walking on the streets. The Night market set up was done in this part only.

I made a quick glance as I did not have anything to buy from these particular shops. All the stalls were not yet ready.

This particular one Reisen art work was one of the most attractive shops of all.

Set up is still going on here

These were the same normal clothes and beauty products stalls.

After finishing this part I took a stroll in the mall to see the other parts of the mall, there are a variety of branded shops here. I wanted to buy some Yoga suits for self. I visited the H&M store as they had some offers going on and I could pick up 2, that was it. I did not want to shop anything more. So after that I strolled around the place and clicked some pictures of the parts that I liked.

I must say it is a very well designed place

I wanted to try their Laban drink, normally you get them in packed bottles, very few places serve fresh. A Laban is a buttermilk version of the middle east, basically fermented milk.
You can ignore the spelling here...hehehe

It was a tasteful drink.

There is also a Fish Aquarium in this mall. The only one in the whole of Oman. I have never visited it, may be some day will do it. At this time I only clicked the picture of the part that is visible in the Mall.

That was a good time spent at the Mall and a pleasant evening with hubby and friends. After which we went out for dinner to an Indian restaurant and enjoyed a sumptuous Indian meal.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Happy ando blessed weekend friend 💓💯

Thank you and wishing you the same.

Stay safe and healthy

buttermilk...wow..what is it?

and you have PopIt too;))) the world was crazy about it some months ago, here they were very popular too, and now they are forgotten already. I was shocked that all people like monkeys bought them;)

Buttermilk is basically a liquid version of curd.
Hahaha....whenever we see some old traditional things mind goes bonkers :-)

liquid version of curd?? my god, what is it?:)) can't imagine... kefir?:)

This is such a beautiful Mall. I personally like the independent stores and the US relied heavily on Malls for years, and now are migrating towards stores gathered but independent. I actually like that better. Malls seem to carry the same old stores and the same merchandise.

This one, however. is very nice and very high-end looking. :) I like the art, the night mode, and the statues! Very nice!Your post was read and upvoted by MarketFriday. Thank you so much for participating in the challenge. It has been a wonderful experience with all the different sharing of the cultures. Thank you!

MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

I have the same emotion. I too like individual stores by the street side. The mall thing is fancy and yes convenient too at times. In the Middle East I guess because of the climate conditions the malls are preferred then the street shops just to stay protected from heat.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and the curation @dswigle

Happy 😍😘

So many things to feast on. Lots of interesting stuff there.

Laban in our language means fight. So I read that as Traditional Fight Drink :D :D

That's interesting to know, one word has so many different meanings as per culture.
