@Ladiesofhive Contest - #210 questions are:
'Tis the season! From Halloween through the other Holidays, food is at the center of it all! Whether main dishes or treats like desserts and candies, the smorgasbord is never ending. How do you deal with the abundance and keep from overeating, or do you? What tips can you offer to keep it under control?

2️⃣ What is the earliest you have ever decorated for the Holidays? Tell us the traditional start time for your culture and your specific earliest you've decorated and why you chose to start early.
Festival times are criminal when it comes to food. There is so much food all around that it becomes difficult for any one to resist. I am a total freak when it comes to diet and I keep being too hard on myself especially during these times.
Festival or no festival, personally for me maintaining a balanced diet is very important at all times. All my friends also tell me how do I have so much of will power on it. To be honest it's very difficult but I just make up my mind to not indulge in over-eating and very much control on the sweet intake. On days like this I try and do fasting as much as possible and I strictly keep these days as no alcohol days, as these are the times when friends meet, we socialize and then we can end up boozing till late hours.
For sweets I always keep healthy options for myself at home, like Dates and Figs, so when I have a strong urge to eat sweets I eat that and try to avoid junk as much as possible. Now I have reach to a point when I look at the food and connect it with the energy that it will give me. When I make that connection, by itself I get withdrawn from many types of food.
If by any chance I indulge in overeating then I go in for a 24 hour fasting process for 3 days, which is only 1 meal a day and that too a liquid diet, which helps clear my system and restore balance. That's how I manage and regulate my systems.
On the decoration part, honestly I am not a very active person when it comes to decoration, nor do I do elaborate things. I am neither very early to start nor do I keep for the end moment. Except for Christmas, most of the other festive decorations are done on the day because they involve fresh elements like flower decoration, making rangoli and lighting diyas. These things are done only on the day of the festival, like during Diwali, we do these things on the day of Diwali.
