This was last evening when me and hubby decided to visit the Mount Mary Church. I do not even remember when I had visited it last. It was long long time back when I was in my school days and barely have any memory of it. I was having this strong urge to visit the church since some time. Last year I tried to visit, but by the time I reached there it had shut down. Being mindful of the timing we left early evening to be there on time.
The church is under renovation now and hence a major part of it has been closed, but the altar part is open for seeking blessings of Mother Mary. There is a lot of faith of this place and it is said whatever you wish for gets fulfilled here. I did have a wish which I asked for. This church has been built in the 15th century, it was a mud structure which was made and then later in the 1640s a proper building was made and the Church came up.
This church is in the Mumbai suburb at Bandra, and this place majorly is occupied by Catholics. In the month of September there is a Bandra fair which gets organized and during that time the place gets extremely crowded, the fair is held near the Church and people not only from Mumbai but other parts of India and even from other parts of the world come over.
That's the Church, as I mentioned it's under renovation so a lot of area is covered up.
The Statue of Mother Mary
Opposite the Church is this another place where there can be offerings made, this is open 24x7. There are steps going up from both the sides and then on top is the statue of Mother Mary
