🙌🏽🌻Sublime Sunday🙌🏽💖 by @c0ff33a - Weekend Stories - Visiting the Dam

in #hive-15288910 months ago

In the past I have shared couple of times the pictures of this place, but today I will show you a completely different scene of this place. Since last 2 weeks on and off it was raining in the city so the river has been full and the Dam has been overflowing. I did not want to miss this opportunity to see this Dam flowing with water. In my 8+ years of being in this Country I have never seen this Dam flowing with water right from the top. A few months back there was some water release activity that had taken place but that was at the bottom of the Dam. So, this was something I did not want to miss.

The Dam is at a distance of 1.5 hours drive from the city, me and hubby had made a day picnic plan along with our friends. We were not sure if the place would be open, since the previous day there was a heavy rainfall and a lot of public places were closed. It was a day plan, we had carried lunch, and snacks to keep us full for the day. We were also not very sure if the water was still flowing at the Dam, because after last week rains it had stopped and then on Thursday there was again a heavy rainfall. It was all very unsure but then we thought even if it was closed we could just do a long drive and come back

Whenever it rains in our region almost everyone is out enjoying the weather. It barely rains here so no one wants to miss such opportunities. This time it was heavy rains for 2 days and there was some damage also to many parts of the city. The infrastructure of the place is very good but still it is not equipped to manage heavy rainfall. So while there is fun there are some disasters also taking place. Hence during such times some of the public places are shut down to avoid any casualties. It is also advisable as some people really do very silly things and get careless with their security.

Sharing some pictures of the place, it was really very beautiful, the turquoise color of the water along with the Mountains in the backdrop was just a very stunning scene.

After spending the day at the Park near the Dam, towards noon we left the place and then came on the downside of the Dam. There was a lot of crowd here as well. The scene from here was also very nice. People who wanted to get into the water streams were mainly coming to this place. I did not want to get wet so I did not go down to the stream side, else that also looked a lot of fun.

The water level has already started going down so probably by next weekend the water will recede and it may not be the same scene any more.

Had an amazing day outing after a long time and you can see the happiness on my face.

Oh wow, the scenery at the top is really beautiful! Looked from a distance must've also been a beautiful spectacle, especially how it flows down to the river. Such lovely and sunny weather too!

The weather was awesome and a perfect day for a picnic. The photographs do no justice to the real scenery

nature at its best

Wow, that´s some impressive piece of modern engineering! The dam is damn huge! :)

@tipu curate

True, quite an impressive structure.
Thank you for the curation

No matter which day it is ,finally it is awasome with memories a lot

Thank you

There is really beautiful views and pictures over here. It will be great to pay this place a visit someday

Thank you, as I mentioned there is no water here unless it rains very heavily, so at all other times you will find it empty

Good thing you were able to get out just when the dam was full, so you didn't miss the spectacle of seeing it full.
A simple walk, but one that surely left you very happy.

Yes, it did. I have wanted to see this since the time I have been in the Country and finally got the opportunity

Thank you very much for your support @melinda010100
