Dear Moviesonhive,

I use this opportunity to say hi to everybody here. I've been thinking alot, about my love for movies and tv series and how they help us escape reality, take us on a whole new trip into different worlds and times. My love for movies even led me to open up a WhatsApp business account where I give people updates for movies as well as tv series. I send the links of some reviews I thought were off the hook from here so people can read and understand what a movie/tv series entails. I must add that I have read some pretty awesome reviews here and even gotten recommendations. I have a whole list of movies and tv series I have to finish before the year runs out so thank you for that.

I have been feeling down lately and so I have decided to ask some questions, in a bid to help better myself. I joined hive not too long ago and decided this was a community I wanted to join.

I read @namiks post on how to make our reviews better, sourcing and using screenshots from the movie, (high quality recommended), viewing your opinions on the movie and using a great image to pull people in, it was quite interesting, (if you're new here, I suggest you check it out. It's one of the pinned post in the community).

I write this because I really haven't been in tune with the community since. I haven't managed to get my post featured. Sometimes, I read all the featured reviews (they're quiet lovely by the way) and try to make theirs a model for mine. Can be a real bummer but I'm not one to give up, I see a challenge for growth. I need suggestions from everybody, on how to make my reviews better. I know I'm going to make it to one of the featured posts one day. Until then, I want to be better and so I ask the community for some help. I welcome suggestions from anybody and everybody. Thank you in advance

Love, @nelson-george...

Some things are good, some are bad and some are just plain ugly. 🤠🐮🕯😤 We will be re-posting this. 👍🏽

Always remember the skills you develop in writing or how you interpret things will pay dividends later in life and can always be used on more personal projects.

I see your passion for movies and I know how much you'll love to share that passion... little or no upvotes can be discouraging but that shouldn't stop you..keep writing, always try to truely be yourself in your posts..it'll receive the rewards it so deserves in due time ❤️

You shouldn't take it personally. There's a lot of posts we either don't feature or simply miss entirely over the sheer amount of work there can be between us. When we feature some people, we certainly don't consider the other posts to be lesser, it's just our selection from the day.

I did check your posts out and there's not much wrong with them. I'd definitely suggest the screenshot part of what I mentioned in the other post, however. But I would also recommend that to most of the community even now.

Continue writing, but do it for yourself. I mean that for Hive in its entirety. Write because you want to, even if the post makes nothing. Or it doesn't get featured or any comments. Just write about the things you enjoy, and let whatever else comes from it come from it.

Tell us about these things in some posts. You can get two posts out of those two subjects. Try to aim for at least 1000 words, it's a nice sweet spot for something that's not too short, and something that remains not too long and still engaging. I'm sure you could do that, it seems like it wouldn't be much of a challenge, there's probably lots you could tell us about these things in the community.

Try to keep the grammar as good as it can get. If you don't feel too confident, you could always ask another to check things over before you publish, or even run your post through a text editor to check for spelling mistakes. If you have questions or need help, you can also join the Discord server and ask us in there. Or just enter one of my comments sections and ask me in those.

I believe you can do it. :)

I don't know why but I believe this comment is certainly for me too... thanks for taking time to carefully point out this essentials ❤️

Thank you so much, I think I'll join the discord, it'd much easier if I have more questions. I won't give up.

I think I tend to forget this sometimes but thank you, I'll just keep on writing and doing what I love. I really appreciate the reply.
