Today, we are going all the way to the Kintampo water falls in the Kintampo municipality on the Kumasi-Tamale road in Ghana. This waterfall is known as one of the highest waterfalls in Ghana. Personally, I know of about three waterfalls in Ghana but I know there’s obviously more. A few years ago, I missed the opportunity to visit the Boti falls because I decided to choose school over enjoyment but never again in my life will I make such a mistake. School can always wait, but enjoyment cannot so let’s goooooo!
So, as part of my friends and I touring the Northern part of Ghana, we paid a visit to the Kintampo waterfalls which was my first time being to a waterfall. What I didn’t know was that this waterfall also had a canopy walk way. We arrived arrived to the site in the afternoon and the sun was out at that very moment. We were to pay for the tour and so we settled the payment and had our tour guide show us around.
First, we had to walk a long distance(because I was exhausted) to get to the canopy walkway which will lead us to the waterfall directly. The walkway had both the long and short sides like every walkway in Ghana. The short one is mostly for those who are scared of heights while the long side is for the stubborn ones like myself. One thing about me is that, anytime I’m on such an adventure, I always have the wildest of imaginations. Up there, all I could think about was what I would do if this rope should just snap? Would I fly or die from the fall? You know, miracles do happen in some situations.
The walkway was a piece of cake for me but doing it with others made it a lot fun for me. That was my first time traveling with this many people I knew and so you could imagine how fun it was. From the walkway, we made our way straight to the waterfall. Those who took the short walkway were already bathing and having fun in the water water before I even got there. Once I got there, I was blown away by the breathtaking view of the waterfall.
I wanted to take a bath in the water as it looked so calming but I didn’t have any attire for that. Regardless, that didn’t stop me from taking a dip into the water. The water was really cold and fresh I had to react to my it touching my skin. I took a few shots as others were busy bathing and having fun. So, one funny thing happened. There was this guy on the trip with us who was just acting funny the whole time, I knew him but he wasn’t my friend. He was using one of the latest iPhones and didn’t fail to use any given opportunity to rub it in the faces of others.
He was also part of those who were having fun and bathing at the waterfall but he decided to go in with his phone, after all, he was using the latest water resistant iPhone so what could possibly go wrong. I’m sure his village people were following him cos tell me why this guy slipped and fell while bathing. He literally broke his front teeth and his phone also. It was even funny but I felt really sad for him. But, what’s a trip without a bit of drama?😂
I hope you enjoyed reading this, thank you for your time.
