Made a nice little business deal.

in #hive3 days ago

I'm all about that passive income. From everything that i write about and think about on a daily basis i want to set up multiple revenue streams that can bring in money passively.

That's the goal and dream.

Working a 9-5 is no way to live your full life so breaking the cycle is they key. Finding ways to make money outside of your weekly wage.

I managed to set up a nice new revenue stream this week that will actually save me time and bring in more money. A serious win win.

Renting out my shed as a warehouse.

With the new house that we bought last year there is a big garage/shed at the side of it. A great addition to any house.

Anyway, with the new contract that we are after getting at work things have gotten very busy and we are really burning through supplies at twice the rate that we were before.

The boss only has limited storage in his own shed and we are finding it hard to keep enough stock for our weekly jobs with the main supplier inside the city it is very time consuming to pick up any extra bits and he can only deliver so much at a time to the boss's shed.

He had talked about renting a couple of storage containers at his house to hold extra stock so i offered him an alternative.

My house is at the opposite side of the area that we cover to his shed and the main supplier. I said that it could be handy to have supplies down this side of the area so that we didn't have to keep traveling up his side for every job to re supply.

Since i always have a work van at my house anyway i said it would be great to have supplies here and be able to stock the van in the mornings for jobs in this area. We could hold a lot of stock in my shed and we could cut down on travelling for all of us.

He said it was worth a try for a few months and see it it would work for a fair rental rate.

Finding those win win situations.

  • The boss gets additional storage.
  • We have to spend less time travelling for supplies.
  • Reduces his operating costs.
  • I have to do less miles every week for the same amount of work.
  • I get a top up to my wages for extra space that i have.
  • We can complete more work on a monthly basis which means more money for the company.

The only downside is i lose some storage space but i have plenty more for my own needs. This won't last forever but if i can get a couple of years from it then it's brilliant. Every euro in life is hard earned so anytime that you can make some easier euros then it's a bonus.

I would love to find more ways to do this over the next few years and keep adding revenue streams. We are thinking of projects all the time to earn more money but it's hard to create business opportunities with the little time we have at the moment.

You said create business opportunities with little time, I thought that would be with less money and space?

but don't you have strangers coming to take/bring stuff in the storage?

Nope. It's only to supply our own company which has three staff.

I'll be there to unload deliveries from one source and only me and the boss will be loading our own vans for the work we do.

So no strangers at the house and i've cameras outside if anybody is poking around but it's just insulation and timber going to be there. Nothing exciting.

I need to take your example and create revenue streams off of the properties we don't fully use. We have a garage we can rent and have been thinking about it, but we haven't taken any decisive action yet.

Garages, car spaces, any property could be income.

I was lucky with this deal but there are people looking for space all the time.

Next will be to try and find some items for sale or resale.

Win win for now and maybe something else pops into your head. All you need is half a dozen of these little earners and you are set.
