What is Concept Art?

Concept art is a type of visual art used to convey a thought for use in movies, computer and video games, comic books, shows, or any kind of media before it is placed into the finished product. As a rule, concept art is used to motivate the improvement and advancement of various media, and typically goes through several evolutions prior to it's ultimate use case. Here on Hive, you often see contests involving such things. Can you think of any recently?

Today, I would like to highlight another one of our young artists that has also been steadily honing her craft. Like the previous artist, she is also very near and dear to me. She has already introduced some ideas I likely would have taken much longer - or, maybe not at all - thought of for NISM.

She often visits with us in 'Family Time' in the Alliance Castle and was the cooing first baby sounds that many of the fam heard on my end. She has been raised on cryptocurrency and the blockchain and I love how creative her mind is. I hope you enjoy some of her work featured in this post.

I requested a few special things from her, and typically, she likes to use crayons. I love her elected medium for color as it adds a major fun factor through the mind's eye of a child.

One of those is a crow, bird's eye view. Not sure why she chose that, but it is cute.

I really love the tree. It's happy little tree, right there in the corner. I think it may even be winking at someone.

The rat looks kind of menacing. As most vermin do when they peer at you with their beady little black eyes through the darkness.

She did real well on the horse, I didn't ask for anything special, but it is a cute one. Almost has this antagonizing grin like it's ready to get fiesty!

The cacti are something we've been working on currently and you'll likey see something similar to this one in the game. This is simple barrel cactus similar to the one(s) I had in the past as part of my little succulent indoor garden.

And a bluebird. I'm not entirely sure why she chose to put a ribbon that was blue on top of her head instead of making the plumage blue, but I like it. Maybe it's a female as I've read and seen that males are usually the ones with the bright colored feathers 😋

I have to brag on her with a huge level of respect when it came to decorating eggs this year. Her creativity really shined through as she gave them even more personality than I thought to as a little tyke. Heck, I don't think I ever even put a smile on any of eggs we dyed.

But to add faces, and then go the extra mile to give them hair? Ya, my cute monitoring scale went off of the rails with that one.

Once again, may I remind you that time will be catching up to you soon, Hive.
