So far, the Hive Learners' featured topics have taught me a lot of lessons as a blogger. It has contributed to many of the changes I experience today in my blogging life. Like I stated in my previous post, I started participating in HL featured topics on the first day it began and have continued to do so. The initiative of the weekly featured topics from the HL community came at the right time in my life when I was contemplating quitting this space due to the writer's block with which I struggled several times in my early blogging days. I could go days without coming up with content ideas aside from the motherhood blogs I create once in awhile, but my blogging story totally changed with the help of these same featured topics.
What Changed?
Most of the HL weekly featured topics have a way of making my mind travel back to old memories, right from childhood to adulthood. These are topics that ordinarily my mind may not reach that end and whenever I share, my amazing readers always have something to learn from me. The topics changed my thinking faculties to a larger extent. The amazing part of it is that different authors approach the same topics with different views, and I keep bagging knowledge for my dear life. Isn't that amazing?
It will interest you to know that HL members has deep thinkers who after engaging in your posts, they will drop comments that will give you more insight to the topic of discussion and you as an author might be tempted to edit the post to include those points. Sincerely, this has happened to me several times. I have been influenced by the members through their wonderful, thoughtful engagements consistently on my posts, and their thoughts have broadened my knowledge on so many topics.
HL featured topics has made me to be a creative thinker, I was so much limited in the way I approach topics before but reading from other authors here via the featured topics and handling the many given topics so far, I have been naturally forced to come out of my comfort zone to think deeper like others. If you ask me, a lot has changed about me, and I value that a lot!
The unique friends I made
Talking about those friends I have made in the community so far in the past one year who has helped my engagements and made me a better blogger, permit me to present to you my number one person in my lists. I have watched him closely and have been positively influenced by his activities in the HL community.
I call him the power house of HL community
A picture of DLMMQB with his permission to use it
@dlmmqb has been a great influence on my engagement activities in Hive general and more especially in the Hive learner community. If you know DLM very well, then you should also know that one of the things he loves so much about this blockchain is seeing people make quality engagement, even more than posting if possible. He believes that we should always learn to give rather than take. And engagement is a better way of showing your commitment to the system.
Have you taken out your precious time to create contents, probably for hours, published them, and found no soul to engage in your article? If yes, how did you feel about it? Sad? Or maybe you're not sad because you still got a reward? Well, I don't know about you, but I love to hear feedback from my readers after creating contents, and not just the reward aspects, because our main purpose of publishing should be primarily to pass a message and hopefully reward follows.
Having said that, I have seen @dlmmqb's comments several times on those people who drop spammy comments, and in his words to them, it's all about cautioning them to upgrade to a better engagement. Honestly this act of him shows how much he wants HL community to thrive with good record and not be a community known for such shortcoming. I have also seen him commend people that makes quality engagement in the community and whenever I see all of this, it awaken the more quality engagement in me.
If you have been in the Saturday hangouts and Monday heart to heart live session with the hive learners community, you will notice how DLM is always after the progress of the members and the community at large. He has been an amazing soul who seeks the best for our noble community. I appreciate and admire how adept you are with matters concerning Hive and HL specifically. In one of the live sessions we had, he talked at length about becoming a better blogger. He raised valuable points which has contributed greatly to my blogging journey and I know it has also to many that were present on that day.
I think I have said much already but there are still more to his good deeds in the community which has affected me positively and I felt like pouring my heart about that on this post.
I have made dozens of friends in this community, maybe due to my extroverted nature? Lol, it's not my fault anyways; God has blessed me with plenty of unique friends here, and I am going to tag most of them now, but because this post is getting lengthy already, I wouldn't review their impact individually but collectively, so please bear with me
