Welcome to the 21st century where sadness and depression has become a part of our regular emotions. Legend has it that our forefathers weren't as sad as we are in this generation. And I began to wonder if the adoption of technologies and other innovations are the reasons for the so much sadness in the world today.
Research have also shown that some of the leading causes of sucides are sadness and depressions, and too bad it's very common among vibrant youths of our generation. Yeah, as humans we are bound to feel various kinds of emotions like happiness, sadness, surprises, and excitement when the need arises, but it's important we keep some of these emotions in check to avoid stories that touches the heart, lol.
Being sad is a very normal thing if you ask me. Infact, you are not normal if you aren't sad about a particular happening or situations. For instance, I can be sad about the famine situation of the country because I am wishing it would get better, but the big question is how do I make sure that this sadness doesn't deprive me of future happiness?

Through experiences, I have found some of the main causes of my sadness and here are the various ways I have been able to control them and stop them from getting out of hand.
I Avoid Unhealthy Competitions |
---|
The main reason why sadness and depression is affecting our generation more is because of the things we see and hear everyday on various social media platforms. When I scroll through some of my social media platforms, it would seem as if everyone is living the life of their dreams except for me.
This is where competition begins to step in, as I would desire to get all the fine properties and wealth of those I have seen online, and if I don't get them, I end up becoming very sad. Our forefathers never experienced this social media competition standards affecting us today, and that was when I knew where my problem was coming from.

This was when I realized that I was already engaging in unhealthy competition without even noticing that it was bringing me sadness. I even learned that most of these people flaunting their wealth equally have their own problems to deal with, and that was how I became contented with the little I have and I have been grateful and happy ever since.
I Take Out Time To Socialize And Play Games |
---|
I have observed that whenever I stay bored or lonely for a very long time, I begin to get memories of some challenging times I might have faced in the past, and this tend to equally bring sadness to me.
There's this quote our instructor always tell us every morning "Make yourself happy, because no one is coming to make you happy". So I know better how to escape sadness of boredom and loneliness, as I would usually go to PES shops or games houses and make myself happy there with other players around.
Sometimes I opt for comedy skits from some of my favorite comedians like Oga Sabinus, Brain Jotter, Broda Shaggi, Funnybros, and Shanks. These guys are blessed with the ability to put smiles on our faces no matter how sad we are and I don't hesitate to check the skits when the need arises.
I Execercise More Frequently |
---|
Most people do not realize that physical exercises have more psychological benefits than the normal fitness and muscles we build. I have come to realize that exercises has the ability to improve our moods and make us feel happy.
The happiness for me after every exercise session is that I become more confident and excited in ways I can't even explain. I think exercises does something to the mental part of our being, causing sadness to be far from us, lol.
I don't know if am the only one that feels excited after exercises because this was how I was trained. I believe it would work for anyone else that wishes to try it out. You can decide to go jogging in the morning or probably in the evening, and see what it does to your mood too.
I appreciate your time around here❤️:-)
