A somewhat unusual art piece in very unpleasant times. This picture we took a few years ago in Krakow, Poland. We found the humour and the message appropriate back then, and it couldn't be more actual today. The text is in Russian and could translate to something like: "Dutin is a Pick". Interpretations of this riddle are welcome within the comment section.
I'm applying to CCC's Street Art Contest with this one as this piece represents a crucial aspect of street art, at least in my opinion. I think that publicity, freedom of expression and speech is at the very essence of this kind of articulation of feelings and thoughts.
Art in general, but especially street art, means more than mere aesthetics in my view. It is something social, naturally political. Probably since the times somebody made that drawing of a mammoth hunt on the cave wall.
Maybe the moral of that story is (apart from the fact that mammoths are cute and I'm trying to be vegan) that a bunch of dedicated little mammals together can overcome the beast. I like to think of it like that.
Now, about the dog. Cute as it is, it isn't ours. 😽
