When you are in Nigeria, you will understand that here are different types of family members, uncles to be precise. The saying "you are a wolf in sheeps clothing," is actually directed to Nigerian uncles.
I don't know about other tribes, but then, my tribe carried it in their head. No cap, family is good, family is sweet and they are the only people that truly have your back, even when you are at your lowest. But then, not all family members are to know about your success. It's better to tell them about your failure than to tell them about your successful feat.
I have had many encounters with my extended family, mainly my uncles and my aunties. Some are really kind, and true, welp, I guess, but then, some, some are something else. The jealousy of you being better than their kids is enough reason for them to tie your destiny in one native doctors shrine. Those people can do the undo. Funny enough, they are the ones that behave the holiest. The way they attend church service is as if they and Jesus have a special deal. Morning they are in church, afternoon they are in church, night they are in church, even during night vigil, they are still in church.
You will never know that they are the ones that are blocking your success. People are wicked oo. In my village, I'd rather tell my cousins and their parents about my flaws and failures than to tell them the little success I have got. That's why no matter how much money most Igbo men have, they rather go back home with a bathroom slippers, a jute bag, three old polo and 2 old jeans, and without their car.
Welp, even though some are bad, some uncles are really nice. They are true and are willing to be guide you irrespective of the fact that you are not their children.
