WAR WITH BOREDOM hl-w138e1

One of the most common sayings among our parents here is; "an empty mind is the devil's workshop." Because of this, parents will want to bombard their children with work, so that they will have time for anything, not even for thinking.

Though I actually hate this, I have come to understand the reason why my mom will never want me to have a 30 minutes rest.

The feeling of boredom can be a silent killer, pushing one to do unfortunate things. An empty mind, is truly the devil's workshop. If boredom is not well properly taken care of, the mind may start thinking different things, both good and bad. Bad in most cases.

I have heard many people talk about being bored when they are alone, which explains why they always go out to catch fun. However, in my case, the reverse is the case. I hardly get bored when I am alone. I always enjoy the flavour of being sitting and relaxing with nobody to disturb me.
In most cases, my boredom comes due to the fact that somebody is around me, and talking things that I'm not interested in.

At times, combating boredom can be quite difficult for some people, unless they see other people to talk to and have fun with.

For me, I prefer to stay indoors, and reaf a book or see a movie. There is this one friend I have that shares the same perspective as me. Talking to him at times do help me with my boredom. Sometimes, when we are bored, we do go out for some drinks.

When I see a movie, (not any type of movie, but anime series), my mind tend to go out from reality and live in the genjutsu that the anime is creating in my mind. It is something like; my body is there, inside the room, but my mind is inside the anime that I'm watching, though i will still be conscious of my surroundings.

At times, when the interesting part of the anime finishes, I tend to loose interest and gradually go down the lane of boredom. If it's during the day, I will either go get a book to read, or I start scrolling through facebook and youTube reels. When I get bored with Facebook, I migrate to YouTube.

Sometimes, when its night time and i dont want to see a movie, I do go out to take a night walk, just going round the city while I observe the beautiful scenery and listen to music helps a lot to ease my boredom. Sometimes, I do write post when I go for a night walk. Infact, I enjoy my night walks more when I am writing a post. Though i was not walking when i wrote this post.

In a scale of ten, I will say that my coping mechanism to boredom is 8 because it's effective, though sometimes i have to go for a very long distance walk, but then, i will still get bored afterwards.

Those night walks sound great. I think if we live in places with a lot of life at that time it will be even more interesting. Your cover image is very funny. Cheers @nwothini335

I also watch movies occasionally when I'm bored but depends on my mood. I'm definitely not a fan of anime or else it is highly recommended and one of the only anime I have been able to watch till the end is clash of titans.

Your residence must be a peaceful one for you to just stroll at night, I wouldn't dare or else I want to end up as means of income for bandits 😅

Wow, that saying is funny. But quite true.
