I'm Back!

It's been a pretty quiet week for my page if you follow me - I think it's been a full week without a post, but it's been for a very good reason!

We officially welcomed this little bundle into the family on the 21st, which has left me without a lot of free time to write. More accurately, I just prefer to snuggle a baby, so it's been lower on my priority list. Which as a result means my weekly update is going to be pretty lack-lustre on the earnings end and that's totally okay.

We've had a ton of family over and visiting, getting to meet this little one and it's been a great time. Her two siblings adore her as well, which is always nice.

Now that the first week is gone, I think I'll be back to posting more regularly in the coming days - but I'm not going to hold myself to anything. We'll just go with the flow and see what happens.

I'm currently sitting at 1,124.281 HBD and I've just managed to re-sub to InLeo for another month which is great. My Leo stack is sitting at a modest 18.592 Liquid, and 1,440.49 staked, which isn't bad given that this 18 Leo gain has been largely earned while posting memes on InLeo and just chatting with folks I enjoy - pretty passive and very relaxed, which is a great way to go.

As for Hive/HP, I'm up to 716.777, which is a gain of about 46 Hive - not much at ALL, but with two weeks of very few posts, that's not surprising and doesn't at all impact my year-end goals. I am confident I will be past 1k well before December - and honestly depending on how my wife's newly-begun maternity leave goes... I might be able to put some fiat into Hive again which would be great. Having done this twice before, I can quite honestly say that even with her reduced income while on Employment Insurance for maternity leave, we have always come out way ahead financially when she's home and I'm working. No daycare costs, a lot less gas spent, and we both actually have enough energy throughout the day to keep up on housework, cooking, and all that fun stuff. It's difficult when we're both working to have enough energy to fit a day's worth of after-work-chores into a 3-4 hour span when we also want to give our kids attention... so I'm pretty optimistic that we'll see the same great growth we did with my eldest and middle kids during this last maternity leave.

My wildest "things are going very well" hopes would be that I could get right back to 11k+ HP within the next year but we'll see - that'll take a good bit of dedicated posting and some dedicated fiat-purchases... but it's important to have pie-in-the-sky goals as well as more grounded ones so we'll just see what happens and roll with it!

I hope you're all doing great!

Oh my goodness, the little one is adorable! Cherish every moment with them. You know better than anyone how quickly they grow up. It feels like my two kids were babies just yesterday. One starts school later this month, and the other turns 4 in just six months!

Also I am sure that you'll be at 1K in no time!

Thank you! Kindergarten is a ton of fun, my eldest just finished and will be going into grade 1 in September, I hope your kiddo loves it and that their sibling is excited for their turn!

And thanks, yeah! I had been at 11k in January so I have a pretty good idea of how long it'll take to get back to there! 1k first and then just 10 more. :P Not so bad.

We were fortunate to secure admission to a highly competitive charter school. The process is entirely lottery-based, and the closer you are to the school, the lower your chances of getting in, as more people from nearby areas apply.

But it’s perfect for him. He already knows most of the kindergarten curriculum because I teach kindergarten and 1st grade, so I’ve been giving him small bits of information since he was young to give him a head start. I’ve definitely avoided pressuring him or pushing him beyond what he was ready for, as schools often do these days.

The school uses a project-based approach and incorporates a lot of STEM, which he loves, so it will be a perfect fit for him.

Yeah the 1K is the slowest and it'll gradually speed up!

Dude that's awesome!! Congrats on getting in, and very cool that you got him a head start, that helps so much.

Aww man, belated congratulations to you and the Mrs! What a cute little thing, it feels like only yesterday when Kaleb was a cute little thing, and now 16 months later, he's a little monster haha

Thank you! Yeah they grow like weeds 😂 this will be our last kiddo so I'm trying to actively soak up all the fun baby cuddles while I can!
