Walk of life: Daffodils

in #hive-1555302 years ago

Over the past few months, I did my usual walks during the work week and the weekend. And even though I didn't post anything I took a lot of photos. Taking photos while out and about is kind of the reward for me to go out. Being in nature itself really is reward enough but the thing is that I am walking around our township, not nature. Still, there's always something to see.

In the case of this blog post here, over the course of approximately six weeks, I took photos of the different stages of the daffodils in our little front yard bed right off our porch. Basically, every time I went outside there was something new to see.

I thought it was a little early but the daffodils poked their heads out of the dirt and shoved the dirt to the side. Make way, here we come!

Only a week later and they had doubled in size. And lifted some of the dirt off the ground for good.

Another week and another double in size. Plus you can really see the buds. And the poor rosemary in the back that didn't make it through winter - sigh - it was really flavorful. The other dead stems you see there - that was basil. It seriously grew like a little tree last year.

Aaaaand only two days later we had snow. Kind of funny really, it was such a warm winter. I hardly remember any snow this season at all. But here it was, trying to cover the daffodils.

I guess the snow was a bit of a setback because it took the daffodils another two weeks to finally have their first blooms.

But then there was no stopping them. Bright and yellow and all of them at once.

And finally, I got my beloved raindrops on petals and leaves. I can never resist taking these shots. In fact, I will even go for a walk in or after the rain just to take these photos.

Well, technically, this wasn't much proof of a walk but - all of these photos were taken at the start of my walks, hmm, or maybe when I got back. They are a walk through the life of the daffodils. Minus their end. Which has come in the meantime. But I didn't take any photos.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay. I promise that next time I'll post pictures from along the walks again 😇

Have a wonderful day!

Cheers,

Nice to see the dafodils in various staging glad the snow didnt stop them from bloooming

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk, its my pleasure to host it and see all the posts each week from all around the world, including yours, if you have time visit some of the other walks this week there are so many interesting ones

Now I know most only post once a week using the Wednesday walk tag or community and I truly appreciate that and love visiting the posts so for most of you you can ignore the next sentence

I try and be nice and let people know via a comment to only post once a week, but some just abuse it and to me spam multiple posts a week, after asking nicely a few times and being ignored, this morning I regrettably had to mute a couple of people who were spamming the Wednesday walk tag

Thank you for stopping by despite what sounds like a very busy day for you. Abuse just seems to be everywhere, I hope you'll be able to contain it. Thank you for hosting WednesdayWalk!

its my Pleasure to host the walk and visit all the posts especially since i am not getting out to much for walks at the moments so visiting others walks really boosts my mood

Luckily its only a small few overusing the tags I have muted and forgotten them now

Manually curated by EwkaW from the @qurator Team. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much!

Hey haven't seen you around in a while, welcome back, hope everything's fine! :)

Oh, you noticed? Yeah, I had to take a break from online life, mostly. Still not 100 % sure I'm ready to return to posting but I did miss it here, so... we'll see how it goes. I continued to read and also commented here and there, some of hidden's posts. Happy to read things are working out for you guys 😊

Ich erfreue mich jedes Jahr am Erwachen der Frühlingsblumen. Schöne Bilder, vielen Dank.
