Wednesday Walk in NJ from 12/2/2023

Let's post some photography, shall we?! I'm not sure if I can or will be sticking to it but I thought it would be fun if I alternated between my photography and drawing/painting posts.

For the past few months, I have been doing a lot more art. Art as in drawing/painting rather than taking photos. The reason for this is quite obvious - at least if you know where I live - it is winter right now! And I kinda prefer to not freeze my fingers when I try and take a photo outside - if you get my drift.

The winter hasn't really been that horrible so far, not too much snow or rain or this in-between blah kind of weather. Although I will say, it has been a little weird jumping from minus 6C one day to 17C just a few days later and then rinse and repeat.

Anyhoo, on one of those 'close to 17C degrees' weather days, I went out for a Wednesday Saturday walk to our trusty local park.

Barebone trees and lush green moss on the ground greeted me amidst beautiful sunshine. Quite the weather and walk to replenish the soul. My mom called me while I was walking telling me about the snowstorm they had in Germany - so much snow that there were a lot of problems. Not here!

Close-ups had to be taken. By me! Isn't the pattern of that log beautiful? And look at those tiny specs of bright color (not my nails, the berries!) in the otherwise mostly drab-ish-looking nature.

And then - my favorites -

Reflections!

I know I have said it many times before and I'll do it again - I just love reflections and will stop for them anywhere and anytime (and linger and take photos).

Next to the park is an office building and any office building in the US comes with a huge parking place. To give this office building credit, their management also added paths through the adjacent greenery and park. During summer and on the weekends we love to go bike riding here. It's great!

Anyhow, besides the point. Reflections. I walked out of the (bare) woods and onto the parking lot and stopped dead in my tracks. Look at this gorgeous reflection in the puddle.

Cool and pale wintery sun, clouds with a hint of blue sky, and a tree. And all of this on a bed of texture a.k.a. asphalt, its noise adding to the stillness of the reflection.

Just beautiful!

After a dozen or so photos from different angles and zooms and HDRs I finally said goodbye to the puddle and left with a renewed spring in my feet and a big smile on my face.

Happy Wednesday Walk to all you good people of Hive!

And this is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay (sorry I'm a little early, don't want to forget...).

Till next time!

Have a great rest of your day!

Cheers,
