Keeping track of finances in this festive season.

in #hive-153850yesterday

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. The festive season is here once again, that time of the year where we are all offered the opportunity to reconnect with friends and family as well as make memories but it is sad when we remember that to make all of this happen and to actually take advantage of this season cost a lot of money. The season is an exciting one, a good one and everyone loves to enjoy it and in the process of trying to enjoy the season many people end makeing financial mistakes that pushes them off balance and make the start of the following year very difficult if not the whole year.

Many people had to learn from experience, breaking the bank during the festive season either to be part of the celebration or to show off would always have repercussions, and if you indulge in such an act, there is no way you are going to outrun the repercussions, as it will always catch up with you. The end result of breaking the bank just to enjoy the season can be shameful and even disgraceful; imagine going to borrow money from the same people that saw you spend like you are way richer than them; it can be embarrassing, but that is what breaking the bank to enjoy the season can cause.

In 2022 I witnessed for myself the repercussion of breaking the bank during the festive season, we travelled home that year just like we plan to do again this year and it was a memorable one indeed, meeting family even those you did not know exist and we all bonded and enjoyed ourselves but in the course of doing that a cousin brother of mine spent every penny he had and was left with nothing and like always the season would come to an end and everyone would have to return back to base and that was when it dawned on him that he has really messed up his finances and himself. Almost everyone left the family house before since he could not leave without transportfare and in the end he settled for borrowing and promising to pay back with his January salary which.

Many people forget that the salary received in December is actually meant to be spent in January and for January bills but since the season comes with a lot of bills to clear they end up spending salary that is meant for January in December and then January comes with a whole lot of hard time and financial difficulties and sometimes they end up thinking it is spiritual but forget the financial mistakes they made all in the name of wanting to celebrate the season as well as enjoy it. Financial mistakes have great consequences, some one might regret and suffer for a very wrong time which is why everyone is advised to take their finances seriously as little financial mistakes can turn everything up side down.

This season I am not sending above my means, despite the fact it is a season of extravagant spending I am still not going to buy unnecessary things, I am still going to stick with buying only necessities and no spending on things that are not important. One way I have decided to keep track of my spending is putting everything I plan to spend this Christmas in a particular account and once whatever is in that account is exhausted, then Christmas is over. Even though the funds in the account have been set aside for this season, I will still not be extravagant with it, January has always been two months is one which makes keeping track of finances in this festive season very important. MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄

These are top notch insight on how to keep our finances in check during this season, I also agree on budgeting and only getting the necessary stuff.

Even when you have more than enough for the season, it's still a good idea to create a budget and stick to it.

It's very easy to spend money and before you know it, the account is red. It's good you learned from your past mistakes.

These points are really good for keeping your finances in check, people should learn how to save and not to spend during the festive season because we never may know what may happen tomorrow so it's best we save for an emergency.
