Tipping should be out of your own benevolence.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. We all have people that have a sense of entitlement and feel that they are entitled to a lot of things, even things that they should not have even thought of, you will be surprised to see them think of it. Had a friend that served as waiter sometime back, and she came back home complaining that she served the couple so well, and in the end they did not even tip her like it was her right to be tipped. No matter how well you serve the customers, it does not mean you should be tipped after all the restaurant, bar, or eatery pays you to do exactly that, so serving customers well is something you have already been paid to do, and a customer deciding to give you extra is their choice.

Getting tipped is no one's right; if you do get tipped, then it should be that the customer did it happily and out of free will and not because they were forced or obligated to. There are countries where customers are obligated to give tips; what about in cases where the customer does not have enough for themselves not to talk more of extra to give out as tips? Does that mean because they do not have extra for tips, they should not get what they need? There is inflation; trying to hustle money for basic needs and money for tips all at the same time can be extra stressful.

As much as I like tipping, not because I have enough, but in some way it serves as an encouragement, especially in a country like mine where the pay is poor. Many of these employees could use the tip as support since their pay is not even enough. Even people with skills, they do need tipping to encourage them. For example, a customer of my younger brother who is an artist holds with high esteem says he likes to appreciate talent, and for that reason he tips my brother whenever my brother gets a job done for him. Some people like to show appreciation, while there are some people who, even if you move mountains for them, will never show appreciation.

Tipping is a mindset kind of thing; people see it differently. There are people who like the idea of it and practice it because they feel it will encourage the person receiving the tip, and there are people who, even if they have it overflowing, would rather let it waste than tip a person because they believe that the company pays you for the services you render, and that should be enough for you, and if it is not enough, then you should quit. Like I said, tipping has to do with mindset, and I cannot blame those who love to do it, nor would I judge those who wouldn't do it for any reason.

In this part of the world, tipping is done out of free will and out of one's benevolence, as it should be; for me, no one should be forced to give tips. There is a feeling that comes with receiving; when someone gives you something happily and freely, even the receiver gets a different feeling compared to when a person is forced or obligated to give you something not because they want to buy it but because they have to.

Giving tip is your own discretion, there should be no compulsion in this. Many people ask for tip forcefully, which is wrong.
