After several days of thinking and procrastinating, I finally decided to make the next post of my Anime Challenge, which corresponds to a review of the anime Inuyashiki - Last Hero.
Después de varios días pensando y procrastinando un poco, por fin me decidí a realizar la siguiente publicación de mi Anime Challenge, la cual corresponde a una reseña del anime Inuyashiki - El Último Héroe.
This publication will be a little simpler and perhaps a little shorter than usual, trying to change a little the format that I have been doing so far.
Esta publicación la haré un poco más simple y quizás algo más corta que de costumbre, intentando cambiar un poco el formato que he venido haciendo hasta ahora.
Inuyashiki is an anime released in 2017 in which we will meet Inuyashiki Ichiro, an older adult whose boring life as an office worker and with the indifference of his family is coming to an end due to a newly diagnosed advanced cancer, and Shishigami Hiro, a seemingly normal and kind teenager but who is a bit unhinged.
Inuyashiki es un anime estrenado en 2017 en el que conoceremos a Inuyashiki Ichiro, un adulto mayor cuya vida aburrida como oficinista y con la indiferencia de su familia está llegando a su fin debido a un avanzado cancer recién diagnosticado, y a Shishigami Hiro, un adolescente aparentemente normal y amable pero que está un poco trastornado.
Their fates become intertwined one night when they happen to be in the same park and an alien ship crashes on them, killing them, but the aliens bring them back to life by giving them alien technology and turning them into cyborgs with unimaginable powers.

After the accident in the park, a series of murders is unleashed in the city in which there is no clue about the possible culprit and the only thing they have in common is that it is the same modus operandi: the murderer enters a house and kills all the members of the family without any remorse. Apparently, the murderer uses a firearm, but no traces of gunpowder or bullet casings are found at the crime scene, which complicates the search for the culprit.
Luego del accidente en el parque, se desata una serie de asesinatos en la ciudad en los que no hay ninguna pista sobre el posible culpable y que lo único que tienen en común es que es el mismo modus operandi: el asesino entra a una casa y mata a todos los miembros de la familia sin ningún remordimiento. Aparentemente, el asesino utiliza un arma de fuego, pero no se encuentran rastros de polvora ni casquillos no restos de balas en el la escena del crimen, lo que complica mucho la búsqueda del culpable.
I don't want to go on talking about the details of the anime because I don't want to make spoilers, but I can already tell you that if you like stories with crime, murder, science fiction and superheroes, in this series you will find it all.
No quiero seguir hablando sobre los detalles del anime porque no quiero hacer spoiler, pero desde ya les puedo adelantar que si te gustan las historias con crimenes, asesinatos, ciencia ficción y superhéroes, en esta serie lo encontrarás todo.
I can say that it is not a series for children, as there are quite graphic scenes in which several indiscriminate murders of innocent people are shown, so I would not recommend it for a child audience, although it seems to me that there would be no problem with a teenage audience.
Puedo decir que no es una serie para niños, ya que hay escenas bastante gráficas en las que se muestran varios asesinatos indiscriminados de personas inocentes, por lo que no lo recomendaría para un público infantil, aunque me parece que no habría problemas con un público adolescente.
Although I'm not a fan of 3D animation, they make very good use of CGI throughout the series. Obviously there are occasional mistakes in several episodes, you can't expect perfection, but MAPPA did a very good job with this anime.
Aunque no soy fan de la animación 3D, hacen un muy buen uso del CGI a lo largo de toda la serie. Obviamente hay errores ocasionales en varios episodios, no se puede esperar la perfección, pero MAPPA hizo un muy buen trabajo con este anime.
I didn't pay much attention to the soundtrack, or at least I don't remember it at all, so I guess it's not worth mentioning much, except for the opening "My Hero" by the band MAN WITH A MISSION, which I liked a lot and I'll share it below.
No presté mucha atención a la banda sonora, o al menos no la recuerdo del todo, por lo que supongo que no vale mucho la pena hacer mención a la misma, salvo al opening "My Hero" de la banda MAN WITH A MISSION, el cual me gustó bastante y les comparto acá abajo.
I found the plot development a bit messy: sometimes slow, sometimes very fast, making it a bit confusing at times and hard to understand what is going on.
El desarrollo de la trama me pareció un poco desordenado: a veces lento, a veces muy rápido, por lo que a veces resulta un poco confuso y cuesta entender lo que está pasando.
In terms of character development, I think it is very good in terms of Inuyashiki Ichiro, because although we are given to understand that he is a good person with a strong sense of justice from the beginning, it is shown how he discovers and learns to control his powers.
En cuanto al desarrollo de personajes, me parece que es muy bueno en cuanto a Inuyashiki Ichiro, porque aunque nos dan a entender que es una buena persona y con un fuerte sentido de la justicia desde el inicio, se muestra cómo descubre y aprende a controlar sus poderes.
Unlike Shishigami Hiro, who from the beginning has full control of his powers and uses them indiscriminately to harm others. However, while I liked that it tries to show that Hiro has "a God complex" for being able to do whatever he wants without being caught, they don't show his motivations or the causes of his behavior, implying that he's simply a mentally challenged kid (maybe psychopath or sociopath) and makes his character feel a bit empty.
A diferencia de Shishigami Hiro, quien desde el inicio tiene control total de sus poderes y los usa indiscrimidamente para hacer daño a los demás. Sin embargo, aunque me gustó que se intenta demostrar que Hiro tiene "complejo de Dios" por poder hacer lo que quiera sin ser descubierto, no muestran sus motivaciones o las causas de su comportamiento, dando a entender que simplemente es un chico con problemas mentales (quizás psicópata o sociópata) y hace que su personaje se sienta un poco vacío.
I won't say too many details about the ending of the series because I don't like to do spoilers, but I must say that it left me with a rather bittersweet taste. I'll just say that, although the story's conflict is resolved at the end, it's not what you'd normally expect in a story of this type.
No diré muchos detalles sobre el final de la serie porque no me gusta hacer spoilers, pero debo decir que me dejó un sabor bastante agridulce. Solo diré que, aunque al final se resuelve el conflicto de la historia, no es lo que se espera normalmente en una historia de este tipo.
To conclude, I would like to say that although I recognize that the series has its ups and downs, it presents a very interesting plot and is quite entertaining, with good quality animation in general, and although the ending was perhaps a bit rushed, it manages to get across the message that the author wants to express, so in general, I give it a 7.5/10.
Para finalizar, me gustaría decir que aunque reconozco que la serie tiene sus altos y bajos, presenta una trama bastante interesante y es bastante entretenida, con buena calidad de animacion en general, y aunque el final quizás fue un poco acelerado, se logra dar a entender el mensaje que el autor quiere expresar, por lo que en materia general, le doy un 7.5/10.
