Jimmy woke up and decided to sit beside the window and have a look at the neighbourhood children going to school, having their bags on their backs alongside their launch bags. He felt so sad. Looking back inside, he observed that his mom had gone out to work here.
He decided to take a walkout. He sighted one of his friends who was going to school, and he followed him to get to know his school. Unfortunately, he was unable to enter the school premises because he wasn't a student of the school, so he decided to stay behind at the gate of the school to watch what was going on the school premises. Then he heard the student signing a song that said:
It is colourful, and it's bright. I will get there.
It is colorful, and it's bright. I will get there.
My future is bright; I will get there.
My future is bright; I will get it.
He grabbed the lyrics of the song, and while walking home, he was singing the song. When he got home, he met his mom cooking. He moved closer and asked,
Mother, why am I not in school? I want to go to school. His mother felt sad and replied to him. My son, I don't have money to send you to school, but I know you are great, and you will surely succeed. He smiled and sang the song he had.
Mummy!
It is colorful, and it's bright. I will get there.
It is colorful, and it's bright. I will get there.
My future is bright; I will get there.
My future is bright; I will get there.
His mother looked so amazed to see his son singing, “Son, who taught you that song? I had it from Emmanuel School.”
“Tomorrow, I want you to follow me to the market so that you can learn how to sell and become a good trader," his mom said, believing that one day he would be the best trader ever. Then he said, Mummy. No, I would rather not be a trader. I want to become an accountant and work for a company where I will be counting money. I surely believe that my tomorrow will come with the brightest joy, in which I will take good care of you and buy you a car and a house.
His mother smiled and hugged him; she felt so sad, holding her tears.
Later that evening, his mother sent him on an errand to get her something on the next street. While he was walking, he got carried away with the thought and the mindset he got from the song he had learned, and he got hit by a moving car. The owner of the car immediately rushed down and took him to the hospital without wasting time.
Although he was unconscious without saying a word, Everyone thought he had passed on, but the owner of the car believed he would and must save this young boy certainly.
It had been four and two hours since Jimmy was sent out on an errand. His mom was just too surprised to not see him. “He would not stay that long any time he was sent on an errand. What would have been the problems?” She asked in anticipation.
Meanwhile, the doctor in the hospital confirmed that he was alive and would respond to treatment. This gave Mr. Jude a calm mind. “Now my mind will be at peace," Mr. Jude replied.
Jimmy's mom had to set out searching for his son. “Where, and who should I run to? I knew I had sent him to get me something, but then I think I have to go ask the woman I always buy things from if she saw him in any way," Jimmy's mom said as she cried loudly.
“Where is my mom?”
“Don't worry, your mom will come; just be calm and let the doctor get you treated, OK?” Mr. Jude said.
As Jimmy's mom was crying, running to the woman's shop, someone who was an eyewitness asked, “Is that boy your son?”
“Can you please describe the boy you are referring to?” Jimmy's mom replied.
“He is slim and fair in complexion," the woman replied.
“That's my son,"
“He had an accident some hours ago," the woman said.
“What!!!” Jimmy's mom began to cry and was weeping bitterly.
The woman led her to the hospital. They met the doctor, who directed them to the man who hit her son.
“Madam, calm down. Your son is fine and responding to treatments," the man said.
It wanted to lead to an argument, but then the man kept quiet without saying a word and instead said, “Your son will be fine.”.
“My son, are you okay? Did you get injured?” Jimmy's mom asked as the doctor granted her access to see her son.
“I'm fine, ma. Mr. Jude is a nice man," Jimmy said.
Three days later, he was discharged from the hospital, and Mr. Jude took them home. “Hey, kid!!! What do you want to become in the future?”
“I want to become an accountant," Jimmy replied.
“Which class are you in now?” Mr. Jude asked while Jimmy and his mom looked at each other.
“He stopped school a long time ago when my husband, his father, died. I had no money to pay for his education," Jimmy's mom replied.
“Wow. Jimmy will come tomorrow to take you to register for school, “Mr. Jude said.
“Thank you, Sir.” Jimmy Great and his mom followed suit.
Two weeks later, he resumed school and started so nicely. He took his studies so seriously. He took the final exams after three years and proceeded to the university.
Years later, he sang the same song to his mom, showing him that his tomorrow had come to pass.
