The gypsy man and his pet

I seem not to understand what it means to be social and make new friends due to the way I was brought up. I was introduced to being a child who hardly had friends to play with. Whenever I was at home, it was just a triangle squad life from school to home and my mom's shop.

But I'll find it a joy when my mother decides to take me and my siblings to my grandmother's place to spend a long holiday holiday. But it's been so long; we’ve gone to my grandmother's place for a holiday.

One day, I came home from school, and my mother broke the news that we were going to Grandma's place for the long holiday holiday because Grandma had asked everyone if we could come over to her place. I was conditioned that I must perform very well in my examination. When I heard this, I studied so hard to ensure I passed my examination.

Some weeks later, I did so well, and my mother fulfilled her promise.

We made a moved to Grandma's place. The journey seemed to be far, but I enjoyed every bit of the journey while we were on the road.

“See my pretty children.” Grandma was so excited to see us. She carried each one of us with excitement written all over her face. I was so excited for her too.

She prepared us a traditional meal filled with meat and fish. It's been a long time since I've eaten it. I calm my body down to enjoy the meal.

After the meal, Grandma took me to my mother's formal room while my other two younger brothers were in the other room. My mother smiled at me and said, “This room reminds me of my teenage days. I would hide myself in the room whenever my mother cooks the meal I don't like.”

I replied her back, “Waw.”

I had a blissful night's rest; the following day, Grandma took us to her farmyard, where she taught us how to plant some crops and harvested some corn for us to eat in the afternoon.

One day, I felt somehow bored. In the house, I walked to Grandma, who was making a dress.
“Grandma, is there no place I can go to school; the house is boring.”
She replied, “My dear, would you like Sule, my driver, to take you guys to Jumbo River? Where will you catch a golden fish?”

Then I replied with excitement in me, “Yes!”!! Jumping up to see the beautiful environment of the Jumbo River with the trees around the river.

My mother does tell us about the jumbo river and environment, and how she catches fish for fun most of the time when she's sent to fetch water from the stream.
Finally, I'm going to catch fish for fun. I felt so excited when I jumped into the car with my younger brothers to go to the Jumbo River.

While we were inside the car, I decided to ask the driver some questions concerning the area. Then he told me about a brush arena that seemed to be a forest but not a forest, and then he told me about a gypsy man and his pet. He was sent out of the village due to his dressing, and he does not like speaking to anyone who comes to him. So the people thought he might be a dangerous person to the community, so they sent him out of the community to the bush.

My siblings and I felt interested in seeing him, so we convinced Mr. Sule to take us to the bush to see the gypsy man. We also promised we wouldn't tell Grandma we came over to the bush to see the man.

Getting to the bus stop, we saw his hut, decorated with ancient material. It was beautiful to behold. I took a picture of the hut and the garden. We tried to look for him, but we couldn't.

We decided to take our way back to the Jumbo River to catch some fish. Getting to the river, I was able to catch a fish—not a fish but a golden fish. I was so excited. We took the fish home and cooked it. I enjoyed the fish.

At midnight, I woke up; I heard a strange voice from the bag I had taken out. I took it and checked what was inside. Low and behold, it turned out to be a beautiful bird with a different color. I felt afraid at first sight, not knowing when it entered my bag. Later, I decided to get close. It was the most beautiful pet I have ever seen. I played with it and put it beside me on the bed while I slept off.

Early in the morning, it was the sound of a flute that woke me up from the bed, but I discovered that the beautiful bird was not beside me on the bed; it was on the door side, trying to find his way out. I opened the door to see where he was going; everyone seemed to be awake to see the gypsy man playing his flute, not knowing that the gypsy traced his pet with his flute.

He played his flute with melodious music that got everyone attracted, and when his pet saw his master, he went ahead to embrace him. Grandma seems to be angry with me at first sight when I confess to her how the gypsy man's pet followed me home.

At least, grandmother also found the gypsy man and his pet, an interesting person. The following day, we pleaded with our grandmother that we would like to pay the gypsy man and his pet a visit.

She agreed. Mr. Sule took us there, and when the gypsy man's pet saw us, he flew to me. I really loved it, while the gypsy man played us his flute. My siblings and I enjoyed the company of the gypsy man and his pet.

It was a really memorable holiday to be remembered.
