Why I don't trust Fintech Companies in Nigeria and why I would never use them again.
Honestly, I regret ever saving my money in any Fintech company in Nigeria or using them for transactions, and here are the reasons why. For a very long time, I have been skeptical of saving my money in any fintech company in Nigeria or any bank at all in my country, I save my money in crypto and I withdraw when it is necessary to my bank accounts to pay bills, for feeding, and buy my necessary required items I need when needed. It took me a lot of time, in fact, a lot of years before I decided to try out a Fintech company service in my country but due to extremely bad commercial bank transactions delays that could take up to one day or at most two days before the peer-to-peer transactions I made will drop in my bank account.
The withdrawal delays by the commercial banks in my country receiving peer-to-peer transactions would not have mattered much but because of the nature of my business being a crypto vendor which I use to support myself and pay some bills. Being a crypto vendor in my country fast transaction rates determine if you will get customers or if your current customers will keep on patronizing you or move to another vendor, so was not going to let the delays from commercial bank put a dent in my fast transaction rate to satisfy my customers cost me my loyal customers and potential new customers, so I decided to give fintech companies in my country a chance since they have good fast transaction rates, even though I do not trust them and also because of the terrible stories I have held about them.
My fear of not using all these fintech companies in my country like Palmpay, Opay, and Kuda just to mention a few came to past a few hours ago. Now, I use Palmpay mostly for my transactions because they are fast, I never knew they were going to give me a shocker, a few hours ago I try to complete a transaction and Palmpay told me I could not withdraw my money and customers' money. I called their customer care and was told that a loan partner Flexi froze my account and they have to confirm with them first before I can make any withdrawals from my account.
I was so shocked that Flexi could freeze my Palmpay account when I am not owning them, I don't have any business with them or have ever taken any loan from them, what gave them the audacity and authority to freeze my Palmpay account, when they are the once trying so hard to shove their loan down my throat and I keep regretting it, after a million and one times I have told them that I do not want any loan from them and that they should deactivate that feature from my Palmpay account. They still had the audacity to freeze my account, I do not blame them I blame Palmpay and I am never going to use them again once this issue is resolved, I would just stick to commercial banks and their delays.
