Hello everyone and welcome to my blog :-)

As promised, I'll show you a little more of Viseu.
We continue our "exploration" on foot....

The first stop was at the incredible Igreja da Misericórdia, which is a true architectural treasure. This church, in its Baroque style, stands majestically with its elaborate facade and elegant towers. It was built in the 18th century and is famous for its beautiful blue and white tiles that decorate the interior, depicting biblical scenes and historical moments of the Viseu Misericórdia. Our daughter was enchanted by the colorful stained glass windows.

Continuamos a nossa "exploração" a pé....

We continued our walk through narrow streets and alleys, full of picturesque houses and local shops, until we reached the Chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios. This chapel, more modest compared to the church we had visited previously, has its own charm. It is located in a serene location and offers a space for peace and reflection. Devotion to Nossa Senhora dos Remédios is strong in the region, so much so that it was built through the devotion and alms of the residents.
Since it was the middle of the week we were able to take a look and inside there was only one person praying! We protect your faith and continue on our path.

Our last stop was at the iconic Porta do Soar or Porta de São Francisco and is one of the remains of the old medieval walls that protected the city. This door, imposing and full of history, served as the main entrance to Viseu for many centuries. When crossing its arch, we can imagine what life would have been like in the city during the Middle Ages, with merchants, knights and inhabitants moving around.
Tomorrow I'll bring you a little more about the history of this city and our country.
