Happy new month to everyone here, it feels so good to be back again on hive after a very long time and I can see that I have actually missed a lot while I was a way, I hope to catch up with all those amazing and interesting things that I missed and also to my friends here on hive, I have also missed them a lot and I’m sure they do miss me too. Not to bored you all with all this emotions, I will just go straight to the #hivelearners contest for the week 51 edition 02.
Friends do come and go but a true friend will always stay by your side no matter what or the distance you find yourselves. I’m not the kind of person that tells people that I have lots of friends or introduce my friends to people because I hardly categorize someone as a true friend. I might play with you or laugh with you but that doesn’t mean that I’m that close to you, its just that we happened to know ourselves and we find each other’s interesting. When that interest becomes more and I see that you’re someone that can be trusted to some extent and also you’re someone that I can rely on, that means that I can practically call you my friend.

A friend is someone who you can solely trust and someone who you know will be there for you both in good and in bad times, a friend is someone who have your interest at heart and is willing to go miles just to help you, a friend will never allow anything bad or evil to come to you, he/she will always try their best to protect you at all cost. To get a true friend nowadays can be hard because most people only want to get close to you just because of what they can gain from you, most of them are not even ready to sacrifice anything for you.
Some people meet someone for the first time and immediately they click but it’s not applicable to me. I might feel uncomfortable for the first time but as time goes on after I might have studied your character and all, only then will I be free with you.
One of my very closest friend Debbie, the first time we met was the first day I came to school in Edo state. I had gotten admission to the university but I already made arrangements on how to get an accommodation, when the accommodation was ready, I had to resume school and that was the first time I stepped my legs in Ekpoma Edo state. It was a strange land to me, I didn’t know anyone even the person that arranged my accommodation, I met him online, I have never seen him before I just decided to risk it.
On getting to my hostel, I was just off loading my bags from the bike when a beautiful young lady welcomed me like as if she knew me before, she asked a lot of questions and we both introduce ourselves. She even told me I was her neighbor and if I needed anything I shouldn’t hesitate to ask her. As usual that’s what people always say but I really didn’t pay attention to that, I never knew we’ll be so close to the extent that we could even know each other’s deepest secrets 😂😂 I liked the fact that we became friends and the friendship was of benefit to the both of us. We assisted each other when one lacks anything especially when it comes to financial problems and not only that, there were lots of things we did that I have even lost counts. We did almost everything together, at times, I even leave my room to sleep on the same bed with her and she also does that at times 😂😂
One of the things I love about the both of us was the fact the we yield to each other’s advice. When things were getting tough, she made me remember the reason I started the journey at the first place and why I shouldn’t think of giving up. Despite the fact that we’re no more staying in the same state anymore, we still call to hear from each other and most especially, we still advise ourselves on things to do and the way forward to life. She has been one of my closest friends that when I think I need someone who will motivate or advise me, I always put a call to her no matter what and the fact that we’re are still very much open to each other is what I still love the most.
