Good day from here; I am gladly happy to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance and enjoyment galore!!.
Very early this morning, on a road walk, jugging a few minutes away from home, I wanted to take a right turn through a tight shortcut farther down the road.
All of a sudden, I bumped into this person as we rammed heads together, making both of us fall in separate ways due to the force of the collision.
As I raised my head to look at the person, I noticed the face looked familiar from the back.
The person has an oblong head with a very well-curved occipital bun.
The person turned back, and our eyes met.
The pain ran away as I shouted in surprise; Luku Ori Kasu (Lukman, the boy with the cashew drupe head ), I said, and he replied Oye, calling me by name.
We hugged each other as it was fifteen years ago we saw last before leaving the pry school section after doing our living school certificate exams.
We were just laughing at each other, knowing well what Lukman constituted during his reign as the toughest and the most unscrupulous student during those years, and quickly recalled what borne his name, "Luku Ori kasu" ( Lukman, the boy with the cashew drupe head).
Lukman was extremely stubborn in their primary school days; he was the first student I saw putting on jean trousers as underwear knowing well that he would constitute and would warrant flogging.
During those years, corporal punishment, especially trashing strokes of a cane on unscrupulous students by the school headmaster, was normal.
Going back to Lukman's silly behavior.
He will suddenly drag anyone's hand to his butt and intensionally pass gas on it.
He will belch at anyone's mouth and spite in his food, stair it together before eating so no one can eat with him.
Lukman was a stingy crook those years.
The most worrisome of his behavior is that he was always late to school because he always branched at a very big cashew tree located on a farm before the school environment.
Due to the color of the school uniform, which is green and yellow, Lukman will hide in the cashew tree if he sees anyone coming, especially the teachers and the headmaster.
He will plug and eat as many cashew apples as possible and then store the cashew drupe in nylon, which he keeps as proof to show to us in the class anytime he comes around.
He will take the cashew drupes home, cook it up with an empty holed carn, break the cashew drupes, and bring many cashew nuts to school every time.
We would not dare to ask him to give us because he won't give us; if you trouble him too much, he will spite in it.
He was a perpetual latecomer, and he was always flogged for that, and he wouldn't cry nor give reasons why he was late.
Who leaked his secret was the senior prefect, Stephen, who was coming behind him on a fateful Tuesday morning.
Lokman branched as usual to start his daily and normal routine operations.
Getting to school, as usual, that day around ten-thirty, he was already awaiting his punishment, but that day was a sweat-bitter day for him.
The information given to the headmaster and Lukman's habit of always coming to school late and not crying whenever flogged made the headmaster angry.
Lukman was asked to strip his pants, and it was then that we saw he had two jeans trousers as underwear beneath his trousers.
He was scrutinized severely that day, and it was that day he was named the cashew boy.
Instead of him to adhere from this behavior, he continues his old ways but falls off the cashew tree one day.
We heard he hit his head on the ground, especially the occipital in particular, so we went to check him at the hospital after three weeks.
It was one of the students who complained bitterly to him that cashew would not kill him and, no wonder his head looked like a cashew drupe, and that was what borne the name "Luku Ori kasu" ( the boy with the cashew drupe head).
I felt a touch and quickly recollected myself.
After exchanging pleasantries and leaving each other, I felt a headache, but the name kept ringing in my mind after so many years.
Luku Ori kasu (Lukman, the boy with the cashew drupe head).
Thanks.
Chaos!!.
