You touched on an essential point for learning: motivation. If the person is not interested in acquiring new knowledge, no matter how many facilities they have, they will always find excuses or something more interesting to do. As you say, we are now privileged to have access to a practically infinite source of information and at a very cheap price. Congratulations on your effort to improve and apply that knowledge and for fulfilling your dream of publishing your books.
