Most people who truly know me know I have an extreme penchant for theatrics and can be overly dramatic, but believe me when I say that Baz Luhrmann's Elvis is going to be one of the greatest films of all time...period! I honestly feel no other director has the style and vision to bring this story to life in a manner that would do The King justice.
Elvis Presley was a larger-than-life musical icon who has attained immortality through his ground-breaking music. He lived large and burned out too soon and it will take the mind of a cinematic genius to bring even an ounce of his talent to life on the big screen.
Baz Luhrmann is one of the most iconic directors in cinematic history and head and shoulders above most of his contemporaries. His dedication to unique and striking visuals will be instrumental in bringing the essence of Elvis to life for us to be entertained one last time by this legend. Luhrmann's rendition of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet was one of the most beautifully shot films in a generation and the modern twists and details were pivotal in enhancing this classic tale for a modern audience. It is his unique brand of storytelling that will "give" Elvis to a whole new generation while honoring his memory to the generations already intimately familiar with him.
It seems like an eternity since I have felt this much excitement for a film and I am looking forward to experiencing it in the theater. I am eagerly anticipating how cleverly Luhrmann will score some of the classic songs we know and love by Elvis in a way to meet the mood and pace of the film. If you remember, he did this with expertise in Moulin Rouge. This is going to be a feast for the eyes and soul and I can't wait to see it!
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and remember that I love you all and you deserve to stay out of "Heartbreak Hotel" lololol
