I can never get enough of the mountains, as they show me strength.
The mountains withstood the onslaught of the elements over the centuries, and they proudly reflect their strength.
A poem if I may, as the mystery me does slay. (this line is my own words)
Veiled in a cloak of morning mist,
Mountains, in twilight’s tryst,
In their mystery, we can’t resist,
Their allure, forever to persist.
Shrouded giants, in fog’s embrace,
In their mist, a hidden grace,
Their silhouettes, we can trace,
Mountains, in their quiet base.
In the mist, a world apart,
Their mystery captures the heart,
In their fog, a natural art,
Mountains, where dreams start.
And so, I will let the mountains tell you their own special story to wonder at. (No picture captions)
There you have it. I have tried to get the most of the mountain views in our area, and the mountain range continues out of sight to end in the sea. One can only wonder at what they have seen over the eons, and at each of the struggles that they have faced. Scraggy and battle scarred, they form a wonder to stare at, as they proudly display their strength in unison. Yet, mountains also have a soft and loving side. Their springs start rivers that feed the land, and nature's residents find comfort in their embrace.
Which brings my thoughts back to human life. United we stand, divided we fall. Does the saying ring a bell? Then why is it not so in our communities and countries. Why do we read of the terrors of wars, such as little innocent children having their limbs blown apart, and so many other atrocities. When will we ever learn? Why don't we give peace a chance?
A bible golden rule is. Do onto others as you would have done to yourself. But no, we just continue on our road of hatred, selfishness and pride, until we doom ourselves.
Such is life.
Note: the words in italics in the last paragraph above are song lyrics.
I do apologize for my mini rant, but we pray every day for peace on earth.
Hope that the mountain pictures told you your own special story.
