Hello CineTV community members!

In order to participate in the Contest #7, western movies that moved you I rewatched my 2 favorite western movies, one being Magnificent 7 and the other The Quick and the Dead, and came to the conclusion that the one I liked more out of those two is the second one.

First of all, I'm not a big fan of westerns, maybe I haven't seen enough to really like the genre at all.

But the one that caught my attention years ago when I watched it was The Quick and the Dead, a 1995 film written by Simon Moore and Directed by Sam Raimi.

It doesn't have a high rate even though it's full of well known and great actors such as Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio, although back in 1995 the more known established actors by then were only Stone and Hackman; DiCaprio and Crowe most iconic roles and breakthrough movies came years later with Titanic in 1997 and Gladiator in 2000 respectively.

What is it about?

As most westerns... and many movies in general, it's about revenge and seek justice.

When Ellen (Sharon Stone) was just a child, she lost her family, and her father, the sheriff was murdered by Herod (Gene Hackman) and ever since, Ellen set her mind on seeking revenge, becoming a great shooter as years went by.

Once she feels ready she comes back to the town, now ruled by Herod. When he sees her he doesn't recognize her.

She arrives when a contest of shooting duels was being organized, she wants in not for the money price but for the chance to kill Herod, who isn't worried at all because he's an undefeated shooter, the fastest only closely followed by his son who just goes by the nickname of kid (Leonard DiCaprio) and Cort (Russell Crowe) who years ago was his friend but not anymore.

The rules of the duel say that the contestants can challenge each other and a challenge can't be refused. Kid challenges Herod to prove that he's better than his father but experience beats youth, Herod kills his own son.

Ellen gets to know more about Cort and knows he has his own revenge against Herod and by doing that he can clean his name, he's known as a traitor just because of Herod.

Ellen and Cort have to face each other in duel, but none of them want to hurt or kill each other so they create a plan to fool everybody, they make it look like Cort shoots and kills Ellen using paint as fake blood, and since Ellen was close to the town's medic he knew the plan and was the one who said Ellen died.

The final duel is set between Herod and Cort, when they facing each other ready to shoot, a building nearby explodes, hurting Herod's henchmen and confusing him wondering what happened, Ellen reveals herself and throws her father's sheriff star at Herod, just then he knows who she is.

It turned out that Herod was responsible of Ellen's father's death but wasn't the one who shot him, Herod was going to kill him by hung him, and gave Ellen a gun, he told her that if she was able to shoot the rope he would let them go, Ellen scared and nervous shot the gun but failed, she missed the rope but hit her father.

Both Cort and Ellen get their revenge on Herod, now the town is free of his tirany and Ellen gives Cort the sheriff plaque before leaving town.

What I like about the movie

The hero isn't just one person, each character has their own arc, their own character development and it makes you care about them, Gene Hackman is great as the villain, he's nice in an evil way, he's charismatic enough to make you understand and believe why he has loyal followers.

It's funny to watch... what's funny about persons killing each other? you may ask... they film uses cuts, angles and effects that seem silly even though the music guides you through drama, also, they make you feel that it's not bad to enjoy watching people killing each other in duels, during their matches I really felt excited wondering what could happen, you can feel the tension of the tickling clock, and all the contestants have their strengths that make the duels unpredictable, it's not like others that make you think "that's the dumb character, he'll die first"

Sharon Stone as Ellen makes you care about her even though her character is distant and cold, she's not the invencible hero, she has her fears, her doubts and weaknesses and gets affected by them in a believable way, not in a "I'm going to avenge my father! every time I think of him or somebody mentions him I see red and kill every one and all while looking glamorous and not getting hurt at all" way.

Leonardo DiCaprio's character is funny not in a silly way, Kid really shows how much he enjoys the attention of being the second fastest shooter in town, he's proud of his crimes and the fact that no one can blame him, he knows he's smart and fast but that's his doom, he gets over confident and for a second there makes you think he'll defeat his father, I kinda forget he wasn't the protagonist in this movie, I really thought he was going to win.

I like how the movie portraits how persons were back then in the wild west, it shows how big of a deal were duels for entertainment, and not like other movies where duels have a lot at stake.

The end although isn't great in an epic way, it leaves you satisfied with the result.

Also, personally I love the camera work, it kinda made me expect to hear Kill Bill's tension music in the background.

Until next time!

The operators doing V2K with remote neural monitoring want me to believe this lady @battleaxe is an operator. She is involved in the same discord groups around @fyrstikken and friends. Her discord is Battleaxe#1003. Shes in some groups with seemingly detached characters that dont even acknowledge the others in the group, looking oddly staged. She starts projects and does nothing with it or the delegations after its used to sway people. Like @steempowertwins does<------fake along with her @teamgood <------fake. No substance in her comments and has a following that adores her for what? Life coach she is not nor is she insightful with any meaningful skills to follow. Ruler of pixie dust maybe? I would like for someone to show me but probably wont out fear maybe? @fyrstikken groups around him down voted me into censored and not viewable on my accounts as soon I told what they were doing.
I cant prove @battleaxe is the one directly doing the V2K and RNM. Doing it requires more than one person at the least. It cant be done alone. She cant prove she is not one of the ones doing V2K because she cant and could care less. I guarantee she knows this is going around and still wont prove it because she cant. Many of us here can prove what they have been doing to survive the past 5 years. What does she live off of? It definitely isnt in public view here.

I was drugged in my home covertly, it ended badly. They have been trying to kill me using RNM with applied V2K mental games while revealing as many accessories to the crime as they can. I bet nobody does anything at all. Ask @battleaxe to prove it. I bet she wont. Pretty serious accusations to just blow off and leave the crypto community hanging in fear of this danger.

They want me to believe the V2K and RNM in me is being broadcast from her location. And what the fuck is "HOMELAND SECURITY" doing about this shit? I think stumbling over their own dicks maybe? Just like they did and are doing with the Havana Syndrome. They should start by looking at the communications between the top witnesses of Hive and the connection to @fyrstikken groups. Google his fucking name and see where his other interests lie around at least once maybe? The connections between @fyrstikken groups and all the exchanges built for Hive? Bet that would reveal some crazy ball less nutty shit. Homeland security should start preparing for their own incarcerations seeing how sloppy this was done. Patriot act my ass. Think we are really fools? Bad position your not getting out of. Dont be last to blow the whistle. Who will protect you?

People in and around @fyrstikkens groups are reckless and should have shown the proper media what they had before taking me hostage for 5 long torturing years and counting. That is a long time to wait for someone to die.

What would you say while having a gun pointed at your head from an undisclosed location? Have people find it? My hands are tied while they play like children with a gun to my head. Its a terrorist act on American soil while some yawn and say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and why nothing is being done. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control that have ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers prevented from telling the truth from being treated as criminals? Not to mention civilians we let our leaders treat the same way. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism-terrorism
