Spanish Version Bellow

It's Saturday, and I've had a bit of a peculiar day. Yesterday, Friday, I was so down that I didn't even post a short note, just to keep the day going. And today, even though I'm better, I'm almost on the same path.

But, yesterday I was very sick, and I was down most of the day, I was barely awake. Today I woke up very early and had a good breakfast, thanks to my brother having left food ready, and I just needed to heat it up. When I woke up hungry, if I had to start cooking it would be desperate.

Today we worked on some pending repairs in the house, but the images I chose for the post are not directly related to the repair, but to something that happened yesterday and that my brother told me today. He found himself face to face with an Amazonian tarantula, which is the largest spider in the world.

We both have a certain aversion to poisonous insects, snakes, and spiders. So I can imagine the scare he had. It so happens that he was checking a part of the house that has a pipe that we need to replace, and while he was at it, he was moving things around on the wall and the shelf near the pipe. He turned to look at the wall and found that he had a giant spider at the height of his face, and just a few centimeters away, that was almost the size of his entire face. He slowly backed away and was very scared after returning inside the house.

From the description he gave me, I knew immediately that this spider was an Amazonian Giant Spider, better known by names like: Giant Tarantula, Goliath Tarantula, Monkey Spider or Bird-eating Tarantula. And its scientific name is Theraphosa blondi. It is a large tarantula, which can reach about 30 centimeters in cross-sectional size, and weigh more than 100 grams. It is a sight that can give you a great fright if you find it almost in your face.

I found out a little and found out that it is not so lethally poisonous, although it is true that its venom can cause unpleasant and strong pain for about 48 hours, vomiting, and discomfort. But it is said that it is almost impossible for it to kill a human. Anyway, I prefer never to put it to the test, because with how weak we are, I fear that the symptoms can get complicated. It would be ridiculous not to die from the venom but from collateral complications.

Although a part of the Amazon is in our country, it is quite rare for this spider to make a nest in these parts, since we are many kilometers from the Amazon rainforest that is its habitat. We figured that the spider may have accidentally hitched a ride in our neighbor's truck, who tends to travel to that area periodically for his own business.

Anyway, we're making progress on the repair today, and we may complete at least one of the pending repair tasks tomorrow. That may lead to having to go back to that part of the house where my brother saw that spider. That's a little nerve-racking, and I wish that tarantula would go away. And now it's raining here, and the power is starting to be intermittent, so I'll say goodbye and hope you're okay.

!GIF Thanks for the support.

I've seen people who have pet snakes, and I've also seen people who have pet tarantulas, however, my entire body shakes just when I'm near those creatures and there's no protective glass in between.

!ALIVE !HOP !LUV

Yeah, I would need the protective glass, too. I can't imagine coming upon one unaware.
