It is the very first sovereign wealth fund in the world that has invested directly into Bitcoin. Abu Dhabi’s government invested 436,9 million dollars into BlackRock’s Ishares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). This is an exchange traded fund (ETF) that tracks the price of Bitcoin directly.

Mubadala Investments

Abu Dhabi did the transaction through Mubadala Investments, the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund. This shows how these funds are switching their diversification to alternatives like Bitcoin. We can only imagine what the effect will be in the future…
