49,1 % of payments
The US Dollar has reached the maximum in payments using the Swift network in 12 years. 49,1 % of the payments on the Swift network are done at this moment in US Dollar.
The deDollarization all the pundits and economists have been talking about isn’t showing in the numbers. It is the Euro that is losing terrain on the world currency market.
The Chinese Renminbi has slowly but surely taken in some of the bandwith. But how the Euro is losing transactions shows clearly how the Eurozone has lost export capacity, and competitive power.
This doesn’t really show strength of the Dollar, but weakness of the Euro, sadly.
Sincerely,
