I lost 2 and a half years of data, because of stolen iPhone

Back up regularly

I learned a very valuable lesson this week, finally I can use my new phone, but it comes with a price. The lady that stole my phone last week in Barcelona, also made me lose 2 and a half years of data on my iPhone.

Apparently, the most recent back up copy I can use to load my new iPhone is from January 2022. That doesn't suck, it sucks majorly! I have lost tons of photo's, which is my hobby, taking pictures. But also lots of data in messages on WhatsApp, and other applications.

So, if it is one lesson that I learned, it is to back up regularly!

Is there a back door?

It is probably idle hope, but maybe somebody knows of a back door, to get a more recent back up installed on my phone? I wouldn't know how, but apparently iCloud never wanted to synchronise as it should on my old iPhone. And I mostly didn't bother, as I never thought that my iPhone would get stolen, or maybe even die.

But it did happen, and now I am have to suffer the consequences. Lots of things will have to be updated, phone numbers recollected, etcetera...

Not only bad for my mental being, but also for my business, as lots of phone numbers are important to me, and won't be in my phone anymore.

I guess, I will survive, but it stings, big time!

Pickpocket on the metro in Barcelona, they are magicians, sadly. It was in my front pocket, and still she got away with it!
